Wow, I wish I'd had a present like that when I started uni, what a fab selection
I did buy myself a pack of 6 lovely coloured pens today and have been making little lists and I think DD must have a spare pencil case I can acquire for them

I've got a very cute leopard/cheetah/spotty big cat pencil case just crying out for some coloured pens. Actually thinking about it I have a relatively large number of pencil cases for someone who's almost 30!0

:rotfl::rotfl:Ha you want to see my CV, err well maybe you don't:D Never hit the west end, but i used to get drawn in by the cast of The Rocky Horror show when in Blackpool- oh so many years ago. They were a fun group and i was adopted by them:D Put my boss off though and i was sacked because they kept coming up to me when i did a demonstrating job. ( Not the kind of demonstrating that sometimes does go on Blackpool) Hmm, i am digging a hole there..toddles offBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Morning all, I am going to work on my homework today, having put my lists together yesterday into a readable format (always helps!).
However, one thing I have noticed is that my "must haves" are not generally physical things - they are things like "an appreciation of who I am from others and from myself" and "a healthy relationship with food".....
That is quite interesting because normally when I make a list of goals they are almost exclusively "things", eg new car, bigger house, no debt, etc.....and I have obviously pushed aside the fact that, for me at least, there is a lot more to my needs than just "things".
However, I know that this will all lead on to those bigger, tangible, things - how can I increase my earnings if I don't have an appreciation of my skills and abilities? How can I be able to continue wearing my new lovely size 10 jeans if I don't have a healthy relationship with food.....? etc.
So, it shows that lots of these things are interlinked, it reminds me that I have to do a lot of work on myself, which can only be a good thing, and it shows me that I have a lot to look forward to.
For those who don't follow my own diary - this is a very big period of adjustment for me anyway, as I am going through a divorce after 20 years of marriage. I was already making those "who am I and where am I heading" enquiries of myself, as one has to when something like this happens, and so not all of my big goals are tangible, some are more about identification of myself, and are very powerful, and very emotional at times.
Mr Big's series of challenges, therefore, have come at a perfect time for me.......coincidence, or because I have been sending out the right messages to the powers that be that I am on this journey and would like a helping hand......who knows
Anyway, I think the purpose of my ramble was to basically say it doesn't matter *what* on your list you choose to concentrate on for the current challenge - it might not be the thing that you might have expected, you might just feel drawn to something on that list. Run with it, let your imagination run wild as you brainstorm, and enjoy it. Ideas will flow if you let them.

Thanks MG for giving me a heart attack first thing in the morning!
However, a little bit of adrenalin never did anyone any harm, and I checked my transfer and it was fine. Thank goodness!
I have gone over the to blog to see the latest task. I like it. However...how does one "commit" to getting some of these things? I can't seem to get my head around it. And I keep wondering if I am not committing enough to the changes I want to make. Which of course is a negative thought and not good etc, etc. Any help gratefully accepted!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
unless you commit, ie truly desire something, then you will not get what it is you are after because you will either be putting in less effort than is required, or you will be concentrating on the negative aspects which will then attract other negative aspects.
Commit to it, (if it is right for you to do so, obviously) by saying "I would like...xxxxx.....because......xxxxx and these are the very positive benefits that I (or someone else) will get from it"
Then start focusing on that initial statement, and you will find that when you start brainstorming, you will come up with all sorts of ideas and component parts of how to achieve that ultimate goal.
If you find yourself thinking negatively about any part of it, you must turn it around to find a positive aspect of it. So if you want a new car, for example, you don't say "I want a new car because the one I have got is rubbish, it keeps breaking down, and every time I look at it I want to cry because I can never go where I want to go without worrying that I will break down".....because that is simply associating a new car with feeling pants.
Instead, say "I want a new car because I will be able to drive safely and confidently at any time of the day. I will be able to go out and meet my friends/take the children to do the things that they enjoy/go and visit my grandmother."
Those positive aspects will then lead you to think of other positive aspects which will help you achieve your goal of getting a new car. You will be thinking outside the box as well as logically. You will be coming with ideas that are pretty obvious, as well as ideas that seem downright ludicrous at first.
But, if you don't "commit" to it, then it certainly won't happen!
Hope that helps!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
