    Hi MG,

The Natural History Museum do night events, we get email invites periodically. I think the sealife centres do them too.

I love the idea of a seminar in the Eden Project, one of my most favourite places.

What about The Royal Observatory Planetarium, you know the Universe connection? :rotfl:

I have only just found your posts having read your original post, I wondered what had happened to you, then someone pointed me to this post. I have only read a few of the first pages, it will take me a while to read them all, but felt I should say how much I admire you. I need to adopt some of your ideas myself. Having moved earlier this year so OH could live out his remaining days in his home Country I have a rather large overdraft and also an almost maxed out credit card, I need to pay them both off, but with only our pensions its not going to be easy, I think I need to adopt your Tree.....we do get CT & HB and AA for OH, but its not easy.

I changed the car before we moved not knowing that we were going to move 360 miles north, however I did get a Skoda Greenline which is only £35 a year to tax. I have seperate accounts to pay the car expenses, insurance, tax, repairs etc and I pay both car and house insurance annually so I do not attract charges for paying by DD. All our bills are on DD's.....I was spending £100 a month on groceries, menu planning and shopping for a month at a time, but recently its shot up to £140......I have a store cupboard and I am stockpiling against rises in flour etc and a bad winter, we live in a rural area a mile from the nearest village.

  • Hello to everyone, I finally finished reading the whole 118 pages. Blimey!!!!
I am so thankful I found this thread, it certainly made me stop and think about basically everything in my life. I've really enjoyed mg's posts and everyone else's who contributed, what a great community.
Mg - your sheer persistence and positivity is mindblowing, well done you. Also want to thank you for the recipes, I love baking and will certainly try to create some wonderful meals. Thank you for sharing.:T

I will not be however taking part in the challenge, I was hooked to start with but with the arrival of mr.big I lost the motivation. Sounds odd I know, but I find it all rather commercial and not so down to earth as it was to begin with. I think I'll stick to my lists and manifesting my needs, musts and dreams, which at the mo includes selling our beloved cottage (downsizing), finding a job and being mf and df. Just want to wish good luck and say a huge thank you to mg and everyone. :A
I will continue lurking and cheering you all on. :)

p.s I am on a hunt for the perfect sourdough, anyone any ideas? Ty. :)

MG, forgive me but I have just had an absolutely crazy idea that I had to just put out there. I am really not sure if this is feasible but hey Mr Big says no matter what put it down even if its crazy so here goes. Next year there are general elections in Scotland and Wales. There will be lots of new SMPs and Welsh Assembly Members and their support staff. Now I know that they will have a lot to learn in a very short space of time. What about approaching the Scottish Parliament and/or National Assembly for Wales Commission to see if they would be interested in working with you to do something as part of the induction. Alternatively the Committee Clerks and Researchers may also benefit from something like this due to the amount of information that they need to take on board during inquiries. PM if you need any contacts in either Scotland or NAfW.

  • got the book this morning thanks, had a quick look before giving it to the evil one (otherwise known as 16 year old daughter lol )who promptly said i hope you dont expect me to read that right now. 60 mins later after a walk and a chat with my sister about some ideas inspired by this thread i came back to find the book on her bed and three bags of paper and books for the green bin and she had sorted a lovely box all full of her new college stuff . are you magic mg ??? the mere presence of that book has generated more interest in getting sorted than all the nagging in world xxxx thanks

oh and just to show how the universe is sending me messages sister and i were talking about cup cakes and crafs ect and guess what was sitting on daughters windowsill a empty pencil case decorated with cup cakes - gonna buy her some pretties to put in it now
