  • Morning Everyone

I have just caught up with the thread. It's amazing the amount of posts on here in such a short amount of time. A bit smutty some of them and me being shy.;)

Anyway raring to go today after a very annoying time with an incredibly toxic colleague yesterday:mad:. Mind you I was so angry I got loads of planning done and came up with some great ideas for the future, so I will get something positive from it while she carries on being miserable.

Mind mapping is really working for me - Ta MG

    Ta ra a bit!:D

There must be something in the air. I have also done battle with a close working colleague just like this. However, instead of being negative about it, have decided to work really hard to get other things sorted so I can stick the proverbial two fingers at her when I leave for my wonderful life. :) Oh, I am soooo looking forward to that day!! :)

I also had a bit of a brain wave yesterday. My godson's brothers and sisters (there are 6 of them!!) are all homeschooled, and at least one of them (and probably more) are dyslexic. So I have ordered 2 of the books for them. MG is so great, she has sorted everything out really fast (incidentally, done the bank transfer this morning, MG!). Really looking forward to helping them all learn really well. :)

Had one of those 3am Eureka moments. Approach the Open University and persuade them that they have a need for a Study Skills course teaching their students how to study before they start. As a pilot programme focussing on the Scottish regional students (as an example) you could prove that people benefit from your techniques and also that they are willing to pay for them as an aditional module. Of course looking at the OU pay scale the salary is carp but when you think how many of these students study alongside their normal day job you get to wondering just how many future leaders of industry you'd be influencing.

Linkie for associate lecturers is here although I get the impression you'd benefit from approaching a real person direct as the tick boxes on a form to apply for a position doesn't really do what you need it to do and so the details for the head honcho are here.

Not sure about this one. I'm an OU student but have done Study Skills course through my local collage a couple of years back, it was useful but because it was in a collage in a class room. With OU it's different as it's distance learning though they did study skills day school at the beginning of the last course I did, so I guess they are already doing it but not as a different module? IYKWIM. Maybe you can approach OU and tell them that you're able to attend these study days and teach on these days? We had study skill days twice in ten months time, some found them useful, some haven't.

My OH and I are still writing our perfect weeks a little bit each night. I would never have believed it is such a powerful tool. It has brought up many issues that we have here in the now and enabled us to talk a little bit about them. My OH has been experienced 'burn out' from his job and he is worried that his creativity and passion are gone for good. I didn't really realise that he was feeling this. Imagining together just these little fragments in a way based on our memories is a good start I think. It is incredibly liberating, but you also do have to lay bare your hopes and therefore your fears. Anyway thanks Mr Big :j

I also had some bad problems with a colleague yesterday. I tried not to brood on it but was unsuccessful so settled for a reduced rate of brooding :rotfl:

Looks like tax credits people are in real trouble.

  • :)Hi Memorygirl,

I have heard so many good things about your diary that I just had to pop in and take a wee look. I am now well and truly hooked but as I am only on page 5 thought I'd better say hi:hello: as it may be Christmas before i catch up with you in realtime:)

BTW I am originally from Dundee so feel quite at home in you diary .

    Love

MG, glad yu had some nice surprises today! Fitting wing mirrors is fiddly but straightforward, once you've got the inside bit off the door you should find some bolts there to undo. If they're electric mirrors that might be a bit more difficult though but just take it gently.

:beer: i did it !!!!!!!!! Got the inside panels levered off and it turn out that its three screws that holds the whole unit on. managed to get two screws off easy - the third i had to resort to accosting a man on the street to loosen for me (I know i have no shame)

Thankfully they are manually adjusted mirrors so nothing complicated.

Total cost £4.00 for the unit from the scrappy - mate sent them up for free (and a big smile for the dishy guy who loosened my screw:cool:)

Isn't it daft how these little successes make your heart soar?

As soon as I saw that MG was selling her mind mapping books I pm'd her and she replied very quickly. On finishing this diary I now realise that she was in the process of completing the daily mr big challenges and still she has sent out her book which I hope to receive later this week. I am very grateful for this - to me an act of kindness when, so easily she could've put this off till a more suitable, later date. Thanks MG.

:D:D your message popped up last night whilst Mr big has popped offline for an erm!!! "comfort break"

so will know forever that you received your book so promptly cos he has to nip off for a pee :rotfl::rotfl:

Firewalker, the NY Times said at $75,000 then money makes no difference to happiness so maybe between £50,000 and £100,000 is the ideal.

Do you remember the name of the book - have been trying to remember since last night and can't?
