A mystery shopping job I booked is making me feel a lot of resistance to the challenge. It requires pretending I earn €75,000 and am interested in low risk investments. I earn a bit less than half that.

Memorygirl is aiming to come off benefits and earn £400,000. I don't feel comfortable with pretending that I earn far less than 1/4 of that amount. I feel that the staff in the bank wouldn't believe me.

There must be some psychological reason for this because I've had no problem enquiring about things for my non-existant children, pretending I have no clue about mobile phones, cameras and other mystery shopping scenarios but I don't think I can act as if I earn a lot more than I do. The Secret and lots of other books recommend that we act as if we have what we want. I want more money but I don't feel comfortable pretending that I have it:(

maybe then (according to the secret) you dont actually want it ... if something is stopping you from behaving that way ... may be your subconcious doesnt want it ... and that isnt always a bad thing ...

Right! Going to get caught up on all this and the challenges between now and end of day tomorrow. Intended to do it all earlier but staff stuff got in the way! My leccy cheque is here which I deffo asked the universe for!

MG, had an idea re you trying to market the book to local schools/unis maybe via stalls, an assembly or a letter home? X

Maybe, I've never felt the need for £400K, money isn't a big motivator for me but I do want more than I have now so that I can have home improvements, holidays and a few pairs of designer shoes!

I love how the perfect days don't all require loads of money. How about a duvet day to add to the list?:)

@hypno Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think I will do the bank mystery shopping. I'll just pretend I do my bosses job and ask questions about whatever I'm supposed to be investing in rather than talking much about myself.

    I like tonight's homework.

Am off to work on my "small" self employed project.......it has potential, and has had potential for some time. Now, it has potential to be ramped up a gear or two. I wonder how that happened :rotfl:

I have found that it's about personal growth, hypno, and we can begin to 'see' beyond our usual boundaries when our thinking is stretched, which is what is happening to all committed to MG and Mr Big!! and the exciting challenges.
Have to say that my 'small' p/t s/e job also has more potential than i am currently making the most of, and i can 'see' that , should i accept the challenge, filling a gap in the market.

All of us here have skills and experience we underuse. What seems a simple ,everyday ,thing ,ie, cakemaking, 1 2 1 tuition in almost anything, is marketable and can be sold, bartered or bought by others and
is an opportunity to build, not only self confidence, but an exciting future.
    To infinity and beyond !!!!

I don't think you realise how much our lives revolve round this at the moment :D
And at work today when talking about what we're doing tonight I said I was waiting impatiently for Mr Big's update at 7pm. They now think DH & I work to a schedule :o

  • Maybe so Grandmasam, but DH is a manager for the checkouts in a local supermarket where a lot of my work colleagues know him....

I can see he might be in for a rough ride with this

Darn it - I've done it again :o

Sorry MG - I seem to be lowering the tone :p
