  • You know all this writing down of futures and stuff is great. I am throughly enjoying the process, and each time I write it, it is slightly different and slightly better. But what leapt into my brain while I was thinking about this last night was my Dad's speech at my wedding. (Bear with me... it was short!! :))

He said "I wish the bride and groom health, moderate wealth and happiness" and then sat down again.

And you know, when I cut down to it, that is all I want as well. I might make it "Health, wealth and happiness", leave out the moderate bit, but that is the essentials of my perfect day and perfect week. :)

Off to a tea shop to spend some time before choir rehearsal tonight writing it out again to see what differences there are today! :)

    So true.
I found that the things i could do without were like fresh flowers in sitting room every day or fireplace on at wintertime, but when I first thought about the challenge I would have never imagined that these things will come into my mind. Writing them down is liberating, so proud of my list now:)

A mystery shopping job I booked is making me feel a lot of resistance to the challenge. It requires pretending I earn €75,000 and am interested in low risk investments. I earn a bit less than half that.

Memorygirl is aiming to come off benefits and earn £400,000. I don't feel comfortable with pretending that I earn far less than 1/4 of that amount. I feel that the staff in the bank wouldn't believe me.

There must be some psychological reason for this because I've had no problem enquiring about things for my non-existant children, pretending I have no clue about mobile phones, cameras and other mystery shopping scenarios but I don't think I can act as if I earn a lot more than I do. The Secret and lots of other books recommend that we act as if we have what we want. I want more money but I don't feel comfortable pretending that I have it:(

yes i have to admit i did enjoy doing it... it's great to start making plans for change ... i think though i will stick for a series of perfect days just now which works just as well for me

i was watching the bucket list again the other night ... now i dont think that is especailly a great film ... but i do love the idea behind it ...

so there i was in work writting in my book and i thought hey i know i will have another shot at my bucket list (have done it several times now) and you know i was amazed at how many of the things on the list i can tick off and how many i am in the process of ticking off (whw anyone) and i also couldnt get over the things that no longer were that important to me ... yes i would still like to do a parachute jump but it isnt on my bucket list any longer ... and the other thing that struck me was my list is now very short ... i think that kinda talks about how happy i am currently ... i dont feel the need for wanting if that makes any sense

another thing i did was i looked at the work numbers and it made me sit down and actually figure out how many weeks a year i work ... now if i dont do overtime i work 14 weeks and 3 days a year (spread out over the year) if i do do overtime i reckon it must be roughly 18 weeks max ... i dont think i could go the whole 38 weeks lol (by the way i put it into days i work 10 hour shifts which is different from the recommended amount) ...

ultimately i am enjoying working out my things as well ...it is good to refresh things and have another look ... but i am quickly reaffirming my beliefs that my life is really quite good ... and that you cant buy time love adventure and all the really great things in life

El, I believe in you, and I also believe that your perfect week is not as far away as you might currently think. But YOU have to believe it too. You also have to believe in your self-worth, and you already know what I think about that from our many facebook chats! Have faith lovely lady!

mags - give it a go. I think you will surprise yourself :)

Am off to work on my "small" self employed project.......it has potential, and has had potential for some time. Now, it has potential to be ramped up a gear or two. I wonder how that happened :rotfl:

hypno ... my perfect week would have to include a whole load of flying round the world ... i mean to spend a day in the worlds best theme park with husband and friends ...then nip to nicaragua for coffe and a meal with a friend ... before heading to the best gig in the world with husband and friends (were some of the singers guitarists etc are already dead) ...and thats just one day lol

another day was spent happily in my garden planting weeding harvesting before having a massage reflexology etc then flying to rome for a look at the colliseum and having a lovely meal ..

then another one was going back to thailand to do the john smiths hang nga caves by night before a theatre experience ...

the list goes on and on and on ... but the things is they are all achievable (maybe just not in the order i want them) but not all in a week ... so for me a series of perfect days is much more fun to look at and realise ... there arnt enough hours for a start lol
  • Wow that sounds nice i like that a series of perfect days, i have a list of places id like to see or should i say a book recommended im not the most culturalised person id like to see more museums and cultural places i like the idea of it having nice meals in beautiful cities its almost exciting :) x
