Lol, I had forgotten about the £126,000 in pound coins on a Friday before a bank holiday. I hope you don't bank with Nationwide and their "no more than 5 bags of change at a time" policy! ;)

400K! Ambitious... (never seen you so panicked before... :))

    Oh be brave - go for your salary + £126k + £400k

I can say that, because I am MILES AWAYS!!! :D

Anyway, if you've done it before on your own, you can do it again, but better with all the support you have :D:D

Sorry, but can we have a balance here. For some people a PhD is a definite positive step that is essential for the career path they want to pursue, and is not a matter of insecurity etc.

    Hi Se,

I am sorry if it appeared that what I said got things out of balance - today is probably not my day for 'communication'. I was trying to do exactly this - restore balance. If I thought that PhDs don't matter I would not have done two myself and trained generations of future researchers. But...

If someone realises that this is not for them (as some people do) they should not try to stick with it - because forcing yourself into something that is not you destroys your balance.

Glad that's cleared up Firewalker! :T I do think there's an element of 'well you can't give up now you've started it, you'll never be able to get a job!' nonsense that's bandied about. For me it was going to a life coach who made me examine reasons for and against, and like I said, at the time I decided to stay. I still think it was the right decision, but that doesn't mean it hasn't caused me a whole load of heartache (and headaches!) anyway! :) And you did TWO???

Now then, what's this latest challenge, and what are you getting yourself all worked up over? <toddles off to see>

Hi MG - so £126K year one and £400k following year sounds good - any chance of drip feeding your mse friends some commission LOL or are you hoping you get commission from all our increased earnings? Seriously it is lovely that Mr Big believes in you so much - and he likes your book too!! Wooohooo! If it is as good as people say I may be reordering as Xmas pressies for nieces and nephews etc....

If a significant part of success is who we know we really could be onto a winner...!

oh and MG - have you ever read any of Richard Branson's stuff - I've got his book "screw it let's do it" and read his autobiography... he got the equivalent of credit crunched by banks too but he made it back... it really can happen...

    Hi there,

Have managed to catch up on both & am replyig quickly because dongle is SOOOOOO slow my blood pressure is rising & I'll have to go off line soon before netbook & all its attachments gets flung out a window

but before I go...I will spend the next few days writing my letters as per Mr Big & in the meantime MG - you go for it girl.

One of your problems will be asking for help when you need it (you're a stubborn, independent sod) - you will have to overcome this - you might get a no, maybe a I wish I could but I can't but you might also get a yes. And you don't have to be embarrassed when people help - you can be grateful & appreciatiave & humbled (this is in a good way - it makes me humble to realise the innate goodness & generosity in people's spirits) - but not embarrassed. People only help if they want to.....

Anyway, sermon over for today - I'm now away to stuff the slow dongle somewhere where the sun don't shine

Clootie, come here, I've got a surprise for you :D

just in case no-one has anything else to do on a saturday evening:cool:

HE'S BACK - AND HES EARLY - well i had such technology problems yesterday he thought it was safer than letting you stew.

I just posted his letter and the next challenge on the blog, and all I can say is:

"oh crap!!!! I am so busted!!!!!:eek::eek:"

    Memorygirl

Yep indeedy, Mr.Big is sat chilling while he has caused a stir amongst the DFW fraternity:D:rotfl: Some good business aims though, so i will be interested to see how these will play out.

Totally stumped myself re business plans and whatnot.:o

I worked out my hourly rate was £84 not sure how i arrived at that figure though, but it is a nice one:D
Now how to make that a reality?
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
