  • A serious catch up now.

on fridays the school finishes at lunchtime and we take the kids en masse swimming so friday mornings always seem to fly.

where to start . mmmmm ............................

firstly thank you so much for all your support - both practical and emotional - yesterday, as you can imagine was simply one of those days. never to be repeated i hope - but we are all still here, and all still marching on.

some very brilliant stuff happened yesterday - including an offer for a simply amazing amount of money as a loan to keep us ontrack (in fact the amount exactly corresponds to the "minimum daily rate" that Mr big and i were working on yesterday for my first seminars. i am taking this as a sign that this number is significant - and my feelings of "who on earth will pay that kind of money" needs to be put to one side because there is one person on here who thinks that i am worth that kind of money and went as far as to send me a cheque to say so.

(my first big cheque through the post - yayyyyyy!!!!!)

I have decided to pin the cheque up on my noticeboard instead of cashing it though - i want to have it as a spur to motivate me onwards. so before the lovely person contacts me and says "cash the belly thing", or someone else reminds me that i promised to say "Yes" to all offers of help - here's why.

firstly its a very large sum of money - and actually having sorted through my finances and figured that it will take another 3 weeks for the CTX to get sorted i am only 18 book sales away from breaking even iyswim. that is for the book sales to completely balance the amount that i haven't been paid in ctx and healthy start.

now that's a clear message to me that the universe is saying "don't depend on these, there are other ways to earn, trust and the money will come to you"

secondly - it would put me in the position of being "comfortable" - that danger zone where the immediate pressure is off and you are ok, so the motivation to really blast through diminishes. really i am learning the lesson from mr big about a little bit more being a dangerous place to be. talk about instant karma though - learning that the day after a lesson??

thirdly - it would be incurring a very real debt, and a real burden emotionally for moving forward. its not rational, but my gut reaction is to look at the cheque with a great deal of love and respect, to accept the cheque in the manner in which it was given, with no obligations - and instead to make a declaration here.

at the end of this process i will personally return this cheque to the person who sent it to me - with a lovely bottle of wine, and we will sit and talk about how i found my bravery, my creativity and my resiliance in achieving my goal with everyones support on here - and the daily inspiration that i had looking at the uncashed cheque everyday and drawing from it the belief that there is a better life to be earned for my family.

that conversation in itself would be worth more to me than any amount of money received today in the post.

i need to go and compose myself for a moment - baby is wondering if i have hurt myself.

  • other cool stuff that happened yesterday.

late last night my friend arrived - bearing a curry. what you don't know is that my friend lives in birmingham and was alerted to what happened yesterday by his daughter who is following the thread.

his response to jump in his car and bring me a "take-away treat" was brilliant. even better he knew that there were 2 boxes of my books left in his store-room, that he had bought 15 boxes at cost when he was running a networking group in the midlands. now he is retired from that he doesn't need them anymore, so he brought them home with instructions to "get busy and sell these and sod the dwp"

so i now have plenty books to move forward with and organise some seminars around.

came back from the school run to discover that i'd had a sack of newly dug tatties delivered to my door by local joiner who lives on a farm (the cucumber guy). these are the ones he picked up from the ground after the picker had been through - but to think he did that and gave me his extras is brilliant!!!!!

See the boys will not go hungry:D

my mum then popped in on her way over to meet her girlie friends for coffee and brought in 4 balls of mozzarella for the freezer and a case of rice-cakes ( a favourite in our house) and a packet of dark chocolate jaffa cakes. of course it wasn't entirely altruistic because she brought a bag of cooking apples and asked if i would make a pie for dad for tomorrow (she really can't do pastry - but makes amazing scones)

i told her about the ctx - and about my sales target for the books. so she is off for coffee with a book to wave around and find out who amongst her friends has kids in their life that could do with a helping hand. but she is not going to tell me until she has that pie of course:rotfl::rotfl:)

so today is looking at being an entirely rosier day:o
