  • phew!! just finished reading after starting at about noon!!!

I think that threads like yours, MG and LisaWaters (of Mike's Mob) house debacle:o and the support, encouragement and help that people offer, even though they also have problems going on in their life, help renew our faith in people.

Reading threads like this have also shown me that it is ok to accept the offers of help in times of need. I have always been a giver and find being a taker so very hard, even when it's offered sincerly and it's help i really need. It's not failing, it's not accepting charity, it's not being selfish.

  • I love the colour of the kitchen. My bedroom is barbie pink - literally, that was the name on the tub when we did it. Hubbie doesn't mind it, and i love it. I may tone it down a notch or two though when we next redecorate. :D

Good work on the tidying today and creating your workspace. I have had a crazy day, but now have a fixed cat again with a very groovy haircut, and i am really looking forward to tomorrow as it is my hubbies birthday and one day closer to Thursday too. :rotfl:

Thanks Greyfox, I will look into that tomorrow. Where I am staying charge £5 for 24 hours so that would be a good buy in the long term.

MG, I am sorry I didnt answer your question earlier. I would want to be Sabrina in Charlies Angels. Always admired her. Looking back now I think she was very much like Monica in friends. So my role models dont often vary then :rotfl::rotfl: By the way, who would be Bosley?

Yep, shabby chic crowd are lovely, also an inspiring lot and yes the union jack bureaux is bibbity's isnt it fab?

Now I am sooooooooo tired, been getting the house spick and span for friends arriving tomorrow which, luckily coincides with the challenge.

    Hi Memory Girl

Just wanted to say thanks to firewalker and hypno I have been drawn to your thread and along with firewalker's which is a recent addition to my subscribed list you have given me plenty to think about and I have spent a lot of time today reading from the beginning but consider it a worthwhile time investment. It also seems a very exciting time for you so hope you don't mind if I hang around and get some sort of plan together. Also going to pm you about your book. Realise I now have a blog to catch up on as well but that will have to wait until tomorrow (sorry today) as I am completely done in.

Oops your inbox is full you are a very popular person I will try again tomorrow!

This feels like silly o'clock but as I was awake - here I am

Last night I deep cleaned my conservatory - for no reason other than it might be a nice room to work in for "THE TASK" - and the rest of the house isn't too bad now.

Have worked out my PSB

Will catch up on paperwork tonight & am getting my hair cut (once every few months & it's now officially a mop) so I can look gorgeous for Mr Big tomorrow.

We're going to the caravan over the weekend but I'll take my netbook & keep in touch.

ROLL ON THURSDAY - I can't believe I'm so excited about this

As far as the blog - I think the picture's too big but I can work on that - I did manage to change my name where the profiley bits are but when I leave a comment it's still my e-mail add - any more ideas - but thanks for all the suggestions so far anyway.

    Off for more coffee now

Oh - & by the way there's a load in the dryer already (naughty, but I can then iron tonight)

Hello Memory Girl and all fellow followers/ stalkers/ lurkers.

I want to stay home today and tidy to be ready for Thursday but have to go to work.

I have been thinking recently about going back to self employment. I used to be years ago but I was very young and things in life happen which meant it wasn't right at the time. Anyway a collegue rents a lovely unit which is not used on saturdays and it let out to others and she has offered me use of it. I have been thinking a lot recently about running sewing/pattern drafting classes and it would be a perfect space to do this. I believe the universe is telling me something so I have decided to seriously look into this even if it means carrying on with my job during the week and doing the extra on Saturdays.

Sorry I will stop waffling. My head is full of thoughts and I can seem to string words together.

We will all get what we desire and deserve.

Thanks to all of you. x:A

Parsniphead, that sounds like a great opportunity - and if I lived closer and could work out what to do with DD, I'd sign up on the spot! I really want to learn how to sew properly. Go for it! xx

Parsniphead, I am over in Nottinghamshire and I would rip your arm off for a course like that. Seriously. I would LOVE to be given formal training in dress making, pattern making all that kind of thing. Would save me an absolute fortune and I would feel like a million dollars in the clothes I could make. :) Definitely great karma. If it does come off, let me know. I would travel for the course!! :)

So after feeling deeply ashamed of myself for being a wastrel with money I came over all sensible and decided to sort my finances out properly once and for all. Sat down with hubby and had a good old chat. We have revised our PSB downwards from yesterday, and hubby wants to try and stick to it! This is such good news. For quite some time it has felt like I am the only one sailing the good ship OS and MDandM and it was feeling a little lonely!

So today, I have a day at work (no meetings, hoorah!) and then I am going swimming, and after swimming I am heading to pick up two chests of drawers I have acquired which require shabby chic'ing. And then I am going home to clean like a mad woman and get my house spick and span. Luckily my house is erm.... bijou... ie very small!... so it doesn't take long. I shall do that while hubby is battling the chests of drawers. I too, am very excited about Thursday! :)
