I don't think you are - "write it down and post it up where you can see it every day"

I am taking that as write it on a post it note or some such thing and stick it on your comp. Then await further instructions.

Cheri love the link to Charlie's Angels - I can now hear his voice giving us these instructions. Never seen SITS.

So I must go and buy a dongle thing tomorrow. Never even thought about one of these before so I would be grateful for any advice as to which kind to buy.

MG's prob. best to answer this, but have found this:

  • Okay here's the thing - Up until a few months ago I was (so I thought) happily toddling along in a fairly well paid job, DH also working hard and earning good money, both with opportunities to earn more through bonuses and overtime, small amount saved for rainy days. No extravagant lifestyle you understand but lunches, coffe bought at work, days off shopping often coming home with, not frivolous but often not really needed items, house clean enough to be comfortable, and contented to buy ready meals a few times a week (cos we both work hard and can't spare time for 'real' cooking).

Then WHAM! I start reading MSE on a friends recommendation.

Now I have turned our lives upsidedown. Lunches and flasks of tea/coffee taken to work each day - every item bought is checked on the DIRNI Scale (Do I Really Need It) and we are following Flylady like our lives depend on it.
Had a bit of a funny turn this morning when on one of my free days from work -when I found myself baking bread in BM, washing AND ironing and planning on making a meat pie for tea, all this instead of heading out to the local Mall and buying something tasty from MS along with what ever else caught my eye.OMG what has happened to me! My DH is soooo amazed but loves the new regime (along with the visible increase in savings).

Had to share this with you all straight away on MG's thread which I have been reading forever, as you are partially responsible for my lifestyle change - have signed up to follow the blog and will continue to send good vibes and best wishes to you who have inspired me.

Well my number comes in well under my income, which is obviously a relief, but also a puzzle.......

off to look down side of sofa for all the missing money............

Mine too, which is great, so why don't I feel like I am rolling in it? If I take hubby's salary in to account as well, then we are well under. Blinking heck.

Why do I get the feeling I am going to be in for some nasty shocks in the next couple of days as I go through our bank and credit card statements? But that is a good thing!! I need the shocks to sort myself out and to stop being a wastrel.

  • Thanks Firewalker and everyone else.

Well in the spirit of a zealot, I 'gently' called my manager a Scrooge and suggested a way forward, in the spirit of the story, but she took major umbridge and got her husband, the MD, to fire me on the spot.

    Must learn tact.

Since then I've been having a ball, but I need to knuckle down and earn some money, so I will be following Mr Big and I have my glamorous frock and high heeled shoes ready for Thursday, did you e-bay yours ;). Flyladying all day tomorrow too - clearing the decks.

    xx

Good for you Butterfly Dawn! Everything happens for a reason so i'm sure the universe has something interesting planned :T
Although you where fired, at least you stayed true to yourself and spoke what you thought, i always say ' always tell the truth, if it hurts others they will get over it, and at least you can sleep well at night' :rotfl:
    Tough but true, x
