I think a forum facility is a great idea. Look how things and ideas move here.
Let us know when it's up and running.
Hope your boys are both on the mend.

Oh MG and the gals, I have a confession to make.
I am actually really embarrassed about this.
I have just gone through the direct debits and standing orders I had on my current account. Holy smokes!!:eek::eek:
Cancelling 4 of them for magazines I barely read has saved me...£150 for this year. Good grief. I am so embarrassed that I never thought to look at this before. (Again, another BGO - Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious.) I feel such a twonk.
I think I might need to go to MSE remedial classes and re-learn all of it again. And me, an accountant by profession too. I am disgusted with myself!!
Still, on the upside, more money to go into the savings pot!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -

Although I can access MSE @ work (for the moment) there are only 3 computers in the canteen where I can access your homepage.
So you've had me running back & forward like a dingbat - Thank you.
Must remember to bring in my netbook tomorrow to check ALL the details at my desk.
Will work out the necessary figs when I go home (they're all on a spreadsheet as you would expect from a reconciliation analyst)
Catch up later
Sorry for making your run around hon - does anyone else feel that, busy though we are (and i haven't sat down since he said clean) that we will look back on this time as the calm before the storm??

Never watched "sex and the city" so no idea who Mr Big is.
All of this though puts me in mind of Charlies Angels. Brought a smile to my face reading his challenge (whilst hearing it in Charlie's voice) Of course the TV version was better than the film, but does that show my age?
you know what - you are absolutely right:D Except that instead of coming over speaker phone he comes over the internet - and we are not all sitting looking totally glam in the same office:cool:
we are of course all sitting looking totally glam in our own spaces and hanging on your every word (just in case he's reading :rotfl::rotfl:)
Go on then cherisong - who did you want to be??? i wanted to be Farrah - actually i wanted to be "wonderwoman" - but that probably dates me just as well:D:D

No extravagant lifestyle you understand but lunches, coffe bought at work, days off shopping often coming home with, not frivolous but often not really needed items, house clean enough to be comfortable, and contented to buy ready meals a few times a week (cos we both work hard and can't spare time for 'real' cooking).
Then WHAM! I start reading MSE on a friends recommendation.
Now I have turned our lives upsidedown. Lunches and flasks of tea/coffee taken to work each day - every item bought is checked on the DIRNI Scale (Do I Really Need It) and we are following Flylady like our lives depend on it.
Had a bit of a funny turn this morning when on one of my free days from work -when I found myself baking bread in BM, washing AND ironing and planning on making a meat pie for tea, all this instead of heading out to the local Mall and buying something tasty from MS along with what ever else caught my eye.OMG what has happened to me! My DH is soooo amazed but loves the new regime (along with the visible increase in savings).
Had to share this with you all straight away on MG's thread which I have been reading forever, as you are partially responsible for my lifestyle change - have signed up to follow the blog and will continue to send good vibes and best wishes to you who have inspired me.
I love the DIRNI scale - you should copyright that :rotfl::rotfl:
If something scores low on the DIRNI scale - then "ye dinae" buy it (wee joke there for all the scots and those in exile)
if you pop over to the blog now kosmicpink - you will see mu kitchen which is painted in a colour called "cosmic pink" - its fab, albeit a bit like cooking inside a liquorice allsort :rotfl:

Why do I get the feeling I am going to be in for some nasty shocks in the next couple of days as I go through our bank and credit card statements? But that is a good thing!! I need the shocks to sort myself out and to stop being a wastrel.
i wonder if that is what this is about? By honestly doing this exercise you end up looking reality full in the face, no excuses, no smoke-and-mirrors, no-where to hide.
it still pants though

i know what you mean - its like dieting isn't it. we know what we need to do, we know all the buzzwords, but if we only followed through and did it we would all be a stone lighter and dating (insert eye-candy of choice)
still you are £150 up on the day - well done you !!!! and you are gonna be too busy here to read magazines anyway aren't you??:D
