You are not going to but also I won't let you do - yes I am that selfless. There are variety of motivational techniques that can be used - have you seen a movie called 'Run, Fat Boy, run'? If you have not it might be worth seeing so that you know what I mean...(she says true to her Balkan roots).:D

What I find hardest is holding on to the " vision" or keeping the faith. I know what is important to me and it isn't great wealth or status, just for my girl and my family to be healthy and happy and safe. I still go all gooey when the Boden catalogue plops on the doormat-from the days when I had more cash to splash- but know that the cardigan I WANT won't make the slightest bit of difference to my life and the urge goes away. A friend of mine once said that it is much easier to hold on to our beliefs when we are surrounded by like minded people;well, I know that my beliefs sometimes slip because I seem to be surrounded by people who are a little materialistic.
Sorry for wittering on but what I am really trying to say-in a really awful roundabout way!-is THANKYOU MG and all you others because I feel that I have found some like minded people and holding on to what I know is right will be an awful lot easier from now on. So thankyou again, a million times over xx:)

I am totally loving this thread - thank you MG. What an amazing and infectious energy you have created :T

Penny39 you have summed it up perfectly - it's so easy to fall off the bandwagon and be fooled into thinking we NEED things. I am materialistic, but not because I want to show-off or have a certain status, I just like things. I can get as much pleasure - probably more - out of making something myself, but there is always work/kids/life sapping my energy, so it's easier to buy myself something. That instant gratification is like a fast-food - it doesn't satisfy for long - then you want more.
I'm going to read this thread every day to keep myself on track.

Anyway, I digress :o I am into the Laws of Attraction and all that. You Can Heal Your Life is one of my favourite books - though I take the health part with a pinch of salt, I like her ideas on positive thinking and what you think about you bring about.

Looking forward to seeing this journey unfold :)
  • Hi there MG, your marketing guru reporting for duty! I have signed on and follwed your blog. I also have a blog on e-blogger, and I found that tarting it up was really easy. If i can do it, anyone can!! :) I will dig around in my memory banks if you like and see if I can remember what to do! :)

This is so exciting. I have not had the most wonderfully positive weekend, but I am trying to see the universes lessons in it for me. It is going to take a while to work out if I am honest. :D However, I am sure the universe will give me some hints. It usually does. I am trying to get myself ready for a week at work. Lots on the to do list there, and the to do list at home is equally large. I am not going to look at the week as a whole though. I am instead, going to look at each day as it arrives and attack it with positivity. So there! :D

Take care all. See you round, during the week.

Have finally managed to become a "follower". (I'm a Blog Virgin!) Think I'm your no 30. Will be interesting to see if that triggers anything.

It struck me that MG is the Trailblazer who sets fire to the path for Firewalker to walk on!

Now back to read the couple of pages on this thread which have been added while I've been faffing about trying to "follow" the Blog.
  • He's back - looks like you were right Clootiesmum

I will post this here then throw itover to the blog site.

    later dudes

"I hope you enjoyed “Pursuit of Happyness” – yes, I was keeping an eye on what was happening.

OK – so you have sold 30 books in a week. You have the makings of a Business – it is where I started after all.

You built a web presence in 2 hours and you have gathered 30 followers, on a Sunday evening, in less than three hours – you have the critical mass to begin to grow a community that benefits you all. Congratulations – you pass challenge 1.

Challenge 2: You have 4 days to get ready for building a business that rocks. You now to get very real about what is about to happen over the next few weeks and that is going to mean making some serious choices. After your boys, this is going to have to be your TOP priority, so clean you house, clear your diary and sort yourself somewhere to work that means you can be productive and happy.

Most importantly I want you to start saying, “Yes” to every offer of help that people make to you. I want you to start accepting assistance with good grace – until you are happy receiving help – how can you be the one offering help from a position of strength and stability. Every offer of help made to you is made honourably and with the best for all concerned – accept in the manner it is given.

I challenge your friends to move forward being aware that at some point they might themselves in a position to help you – or may find themselves moved to go above and beyond for what I think is a pretty deserving cause. Know that I too believe in the law of Karma or reciprocity – what you give will return to you seven-fold.

Remember Memorygirl you will owe these people a debt in the future that I expect you to spend a lifetime joyfully repaying to others in kind.

I will be back on Thursday with your next challenge.

This is bigger than you alone – but you are a pretty good place to start a revolution.

Mr Big (because it made me laugh to be compared as such)"

I really hope I'm soon in a position to help you MG, because you definitely deserve it :T
