Hi, I have been read through your thread, popping on and off but I am still only half way through. So I thought that I would drop you a line and then go back and read the rest. I have been loving it and I have even been and brought "the secret" and got "the power" half price. I remember reading one of your last threads when you were just starting off on your little journey. You may have been expecting at the time??? and I how know he is around two. Well I will keep popping in if you dont mind and let you know how I am getting on.

Your signature is marvellous! Not everybody "gets it" right away, whatever "it" may be

I'm amazed at how well you spent your windfall and can't wait to hear how you get on with your challenges.

we wanted to spend our windfall on things that would be meaningful and long lasting.

ds desk should do him right through school and beyond

........... in years to come i can tell ds2 who paid for his first swimming trips

........... when we look at the winter photos - there will be the snug wellie socks and aran sweaters and we will always remember where they came from

my kids are going to grow up knowing there are nice people who do nice things and that they must learn how to pass it on too.

ds2 has just come running in with a runny nose - and he's kind of warm.

think a bubble bath, a cuddle and tucked up in bed with the olbas oil burner is on the cards for me tonight.

down to earth with a bump - lol

will be back in the morning - apparently i am to receive the challenges on a sunday - or more often depending on how we get on.

    oooooohhhhhh!!!!

off to cuddle a toddler with a summer cold - and maybe finish some knitting i am doing as s uprise present.

also got a ds who won't wear armbands cos none of the big kids do.

so i guess he will be swimming in a month:cool:

    :eek::eek:I hope so !!! :eek::eek:

Have you ever seen the film "Pay It Forward" ?

It's karma in a small way & if you've not seen it - and that applies to all reading this thread - Your mission is (should you chose to accept it) - WATCH THIS FILM.

It shows that hearts are good (& it does have Kevin Spacey who is a wonderful actor)

And off ClootiesMum goes to dig out the film to watch it - but I really must acquire a copy on 1 disc instead of 2 & without Chinese subtitles though as we bought our film in a Chinatown abroad.....:D:D

PS MG - there's a bug going round at the moment - bed & hot water bottles worked for us - looka after all of you as it seems to be catching

  • I would have been finished by now but sadly my Granny passed away and I had to travel back to Ireland to bid her fare well.

Thanks Short_bird I get 'it' more and more as time goes by. I just wish that I knew then what I know now, then I wouldn't be in this sorry mess, but hey hoo I know it now.

Spooky - I saw the book Pay it Forward in a shop today whilst I was on a spending spree (I don't think I paid full price for anything and have got lots of Xmas pressies and a fab pair of shoes for me :) ) and thought of this thread :)

It's a great book/film, I urge you all to go and borrow it from your libraries...

MG, I don't post on your thread but I do read, and I am so so pleased that you have made the progress you have. Over the years that I have been on MSE, I have seen so many good things come out of people's despair. These boards play a huge part in it - with the support of strangers who become friends who we will never meet, but don't forget the simple fact that you are worthy of the success you get going forward, because YOU are doing the work. YOU are coming up with the ideas and having the courage to do them, and YOU are taking the risk when life is already (in the eyes of many) presenting you with more than enough challenges!

So, be hugely proud of what you have achieved so far, for yourself, your family, and for the many many people that you are inspiring to help themselves on MSE and beyond.
