landed back in the kitchen for a cup of coffee and a catch -up.
one of the things i was most touched about this week was everyone who sent me good wishes, and lovely letters and very sweet pm's.
I won't name names, but one very kind lady pm'd me to say that she'd had a premium bonds win - and she'd love to share her luck with the boys and me -and if she did would i use it to treat us to something special.
so over the last few days her present from ernie has been splurged on;
£19.99 ink for the printer - desperately needed for me and for ds1 projects
£1.40 on 2 balls of 4ply charcoal wool from the charity shop (DS1 spends several afternoons at "nature school" and needs new wellie socks to keep his feet warm
£0.59 set of 4 double point needles from same shop to knit them on.
£3.00 on a cream and blue checked rug (local furniture project)- starting point for swedish colour scheme to paint all his mismatched pine furniture to make a designer heaven bedroom.
£0.99 on a pine bureau desk for ds1's room - 3 drawers, a pen drawer, a flip down top with loads of cubby holes and drawers for his treasures. again needs to be painted - and it has no knobs so i will need to find 10 pine knobs - but hey, for less than a pound i think its pretty marvelous:D
£2.99 on a china breakfast set for ds2 - ds1 has a dr who set, ds1 one now has a spongebob set and is like a dog with two tails. he is now officially a big boy as all his meals come on proper plates and not melamine ones.:rotfl:
£1.25 on a cone of aran wool - and i mean wool - from a real honest to goodness shaun the sheep. destined to be a winter sweater for ds2 plus hats, mitts and scarves for snowy days.
£1.25 on a john Torode - thai treck cookbook. Because one day ds1 wants to go travelling there and wants to get to know the food - oh, and the pictures are lovely.
£18.00 - on two swimming multisaver tickets. Means that ds1, ds2 and i can go swimming together every friday afternoon for the next 10 weeks. We took the baby last friday and he loved it - you would have laughed to see his face.
Oh and 45p on a packet of strawberry chews from lidl - well they deserved a wee sweetie.
All of these things are things that i regarded as "luxury buys" - they would be lovely to have but we can do with out kind of things - but we (well ds1 and I) worked together to get the wee things that would make the biggest difference to our lives.
so thank you mrs premium bond :rotfl::rotfl:. my ds now has a place to do his homework, a printer to use as he needs it - warm feet, hands, head and neck, a whole new cuisine of food to try and the joy of watching his little brother splash around and learn to swim.
thats a long way to stretch £50 - and the eagle eyed amongst you will have calculated that we overspent by a penny:D but i think we can all live with that.
whats more important is he has seen his mum get her sparkle back - and to start moving forward with purpose into a brand new life.
you are all officially my everyday angels

Hi, I have been read through your thread, popping on and off but I am still only half way through. So I thought that I would drop you a line and then go back and read the rest. I have been loving it and I have even been and brought "the secret" and got "the power" half price. I remember reading one of your last threads when you were just starting off on your little journey. You may have been expecting at the time??? and I how know he is around two. Well I will keep popping in if you dont mind and let you know how I am getting on.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
