Hi MG - I agree with the others - you are motivational in lots of ways
For me it has been about things like fitting in more short bursts of housework and home cooking - which has been appreciated by all in this house, less food waste, seeing the positive and making the most of what we have - and hopefully sharing our surplus with others too
I do believe what it says in the bible "give and it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over". You give of what you have - which is your motivation, cooking skills, memory skills etc - and are reaping the benefits several times over which is fab!
I find your diary one of the most uplifting on here - a lot of that is due to the other contributers too but it is great when that can be harnessed like it is in this thread and put to good use... I love it when MSEers can help each other out....

Hi MG and everyone. I wanted to congratulate you MG on your fantastic approach to life, and the wonderful things that are beginning to happen for you! I too was a lurker, but felt I just had to let you all know my recent experience. I live with DH, DS1 (15) and DS2 (10) at home and we are not affluent by any means and still have a bit of a way to go to clear some debts. I was finding it overwhelming until I started reading this thread about five days ago. I began reading at the end – then started at the beginning and have made it to the end and also page 11 (IYSWIM). That same day I watched a film called “The Celestine Prophecy”, which is a film about the affects of karma and giving out positive energy. After watching I had to go to MR T’s and while there I bought a lottery ticket (something I never do). Checked it this morning and had won £10. Not a lot for most people but a godsend to us. DS2 and I decided to go swimming this morning (both of us needing to get more active) (using the money) but when we got there found out it was a free swimming day. So think someone somewhere has been looking out for us too! Will now put the £10 in a pot and use to pay more towards one of the outstanding bills. I have always believed in trying to do at least one nice thing for someone a day, but had not really felt I was worth receiving anything back – a typical don’t ask person, but thanks to MG for all the inspiration, I can now see so many ways forward! THANK YOU THANKYOU THANKYOU. I too like the 15 minute working/relaxing/working scheme. I think by starting small mounds the bigger hills don't look so big and the mountains - once un scalable don't look so bad either.
Sorry for the ramble0 -
I've spent today being a stay at home and cuddles kind of mum - poor ds2 really has got the snurfles - so i have been tied the couch and watched far to much cbeebies.
then - PING!!!!! - you got an IM !!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"4.30 pm gmt:Your first challenge is to find a home for this challenge on the web. The mse site retains all copyright and together you will be creating stuff you will want to retain. I need you to create a blog, setting out the background and allowing people to subscribe - you have two hours to send me the link - then i will send you your next challenge"
So - panicking I defrost a shepherds pie for dinner, start preheating the oven and run a bubble bath for ds2.
will be back with an address for our transatlantic challenge blog. just need to figure out how blogspot works.
He has also sent me a charming email explaining that he will use the blog as his primary point of contact, but realises that we have a great community on this thread so he doesn't want to "impose" by posting here. We are to feel free to use this thread for all our chat and support as well as our usual md&m stuff, and the blog will be entirely about the challenge.
So he won't post - but he may be reading!!!! no pressure there then:rotfl:

Hi MG,
Excellent thread. Much inspired, thank you.
"Rather wackily the Womens Institutes are always looking out for speakers to give talks on a variety of topics. It would be another way of getting your name mentioned.
Will add them to my list. I assume they don't pay for speakers but might they be willing to make a small contribution to the school do you think?"
I had to provide a speaker for local WI, Rare Breeds Society, Ladies groups, etc, they paid £30 per session. They also wanted products to sell at meeting. Interest groups have times in the year when they book speakers "off topic" i.e. Christmas.

Looking forward to joining everyone on the blog and continuing on here too
Mystery Man reminds me of an ex boyf, I used to get challenges from him to do what almost felt impossible at times given the whole work/motherhood/life/relationship balance, but was great really! Wish we could have split up and maintained some of it, lol.
