MG, what a beautifully put article about word of mouth marketing. You really are very skilled!
I have always been a fan of unconventional marketing ideas. When Anita Roddick started The Body Shop, all she had to work with was the word of mouth. She never used conventional advertising, and it was purely through bloody hard graft, and peoples recommendations that the products smelled lovely and were great, that she grew her one little shop into a global empire. She used to take her strawberry perfume oil out into the street and "anoint" the pavement so that people would follow the smell. Genius idea! And she loved to give items away for charity raffles, or to support charity work in some way.Memory_Girl wrote: »Its still work - thats why its called Net"working" not net"playing" but for me I can't help thinking that helping others to achieve their hearts desire is a better way of working than the old model.
My heart is racing now because i think this could really be a great idea for a thread (or maybe a blog hosted elsewhere) where we can pool our resources and all achieve amazing things together.
What do you think??

I think it is an EXCELLENT idea for a thread/blog elsewhere. And while I would always think I was pretty rubbish at networking, I am really good at going above and beyond for people! This could really work.
Right, now, I need to get down to my "proper" job! :rotfl:

Morning Memory Girl and others,
I've been away and only really just come back to the thread. I feel I've missed quite a bitbut glad to hear that things seem to be going well for you...
I have been decluttering and sorting out the house. I thought I would be lucky to get the shed and garage done but it seem a neighbour has made a comment my DH and he is being particularly open about getting house things done. I have to strike while the iron's hot so I've been cracking on and not been online very much.
He currently wants the downstairs painted so I'm using it as an opportunity to get rid of stuff and move stuff out that I don't think belongs here....unfortunately my idea of tidy and his are quite different...if it doesn't look any worse than a 'council estate' then he's pretty happy. I'm 'everything in it's place'. It's a really fine line for marital harmony....sometimes I'd just like my own house!
Anyway, I'll be lurking away, enjoying your success0 -

Hi MG,
correct again - this is exactly how very high earnings can be achieved. One has to have a stirling product and/or service but we all can work towards that. Building the list - classic snowballing.
Having a dedficated website elsewhere is a good idea. In fact, probably there is a need for two - one that is a platform for a group so that we can exchange infoirmation very quickly (and discuss ideas fairly openly) and another one that is personal to you. You do not seem to have a website - do you want one? If you would like a website and can do with someone to help develop it pm me.
BTW, we probably have also dramatically increased the sales of The Secret as well - we can market ourselves as a 'gate-keeper' marketing group. Just joking....

say that you are just gathering all the data to make a qualified decision as to which job or combination of jobs is most suited to your needs and requirements - they know you can do the job - but YOU need to decide if this is still appropriate for you.
i know that the whole politics in the workplace thing is pants isn't it???

It is MG- i hate the politics of the workplace.:o TBH i would rather work on my own and i am thinking outside the box on this as well. Maybe i am being shown the way, and while i am rebelling against it- it is for a reason.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Good morning everyone,
I am coming out of lurkdom to thank MG. My books arrived this morning and I can't wait to get stuck in. I have already given the student copy to my 14 year old nephew (starting his GCSEs this term) and he has stopped watching the TV and is reading it already - wow!!! Thank you... thank you....

I think you should definitely set up this blog or website MG! It would be a really good way of helping others (writers, hypnotherapists, speakers, even crafters and jam makers) become successful and on top of that, these days blogs and such attract a lot of publicity and advertising which could be a nice little money maker for you!
Hopefully the universe will arrange for you to bump into a very generous website designer in the supermarket soon!0 -

So why not give yourself a half hour to write out your perfect day - you may find yourself describing your perfect job.
then again, my perfect day today is daydreaming about storming into the ctx offices and holding them up at gunpoint until someone starts doing their job - yes i've been chasing them up again today.................................. and it will be at least another 7 days before they process my claim.
in the meantime i've had aletter telling me that they have overpaid me!!!!!!!!!
................ for a whole £9.47.
thank goodness i am doing so well with the os stuff and selling books because we would be surviving on thin air by now.
