    Afternoon all,

Kerry got upstairs this morning to give me a 'kiss' but managed to get mud on sheets and pillowcases changed on Saturday, so have had to change bedding....

Having DGS2 for dinner to-day as DD4 will be late from work and he has kickboxing at 6.30....glad I don't have to take him there. We are having spagbol, will make enough to do at least one other day when I feed the four of us, might just freeze it in 2 X 2 portions for convenience.

Just about to make my porridge this morning when OH suggested that we go out for breakfast...one of the bad habits he learnt in his 10 year stay in US! Had 2 poached eggs, 2 rashers, hm hash browns, green tea and 3 half slices of toast, only one with butter....will just have fruit for lunch and feel slightly more virtuous!

Mioliere....great to see you again, you really are cracking on with the house.

Taplady...glad to hear that you have been to the doctor to reassure yourself on back problem....take it easy and enjoy the massage.

PenPin....nice to hear that you feel a bit better to-day, enjoy. Sorry to hear yesterday that you have had a cut in benefits, hope that you can manage ok.

Lame Wolf...take it easy...glad to hear that you enjoyed your day out yesterday.

JackieO....so sorry to hear of your friend's illness, things really run badly for people sometimes....I am sure that you will give him lots of support.

N9eav....hope that the day is enjoyable....glad its new and not me, as it is very cold here to-day, maybe sunny Falmouth is having better weather.

Some Irish and Scottish airports are closed again due to volcano ash, DS1 should be coming back to Cork from Amsterdam to-night...maybe he can get to Roscoff by train and then to Cork by ferry....probably get home on Thursday if he does that.

Want to sow some more peas and beans to-day, going to sow in bucket again and leave in greenhouse, hopefully they can all come out before the end of the month. Courgette plant is doing well but needs a bit of heat.

Csarina....no rise in civil service or state pensions here, I gather that we will be lucky to avoid a cut when our budget comes out in December, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating and welcome to all newbies.

A busy day here today, Washing is on the line, and I've cleaned the machine out and put it on a hot wash with vinegar in it. I've also had somebody round to quote for new double glazing in the new house, visited the bathroom showroom and done some food shopping.

The shopping is now put away, and I've ordered DS2 some more books from the library. I'm going to see the school tomorrow to ask for some advice on how to deal with his reading, as the current method of group reading doesn't suit him. We are going to the library after school. I'm hoping that DS1 will have found his school bag, I really don't want to have to get him a new one when he's only in the school until July.

I'm out tonight at my quilting group, I need to get to my local quilt shop to pick up some more material but they are closed today.

HUGS to all that need them
  • Afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is ok.

jackieglasgow Thanks for the advice about the Wii. I rang Nintendo this morning and they recommended trying a cleaning disc first so I ordered on this morning. Fingers crossed it works.

JackieO So sorry about your friend. Life just doesn't seem fair does it?

Afternoon gang, Hope all is well in your world today.

I seriously need a slap:o Nothing fantastic to report- I wanted to tell you all how industrious I have been BUT......:o:o:o:o very little done. Have fed the furry gang, done the washing up, sorted the veg rack out, bit of recycling sorting and ...............zippo.(well I read loads of polls and went on various political websites)

Have not yet decided what cakes I am doing for school but have got ages yet.

JackieO my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend. Cancer truly is an evil disease. I know exactly what you are feeling.

Pen-Pin lovely to hear you sounding brighter. (((((hugs))))

    Celyn The cookies sound lovely.

LadyGrim still thinking about you Mags.

    Tired Mum

MeanMarie I have just heard that Jerry Ryan has died. I am really shocked.

Essex Girl am so glad everything got sorted re your drivers accident. Both Mark and I think you are lovely you treat your drivers so well.

Snozer I haven't forgotten about the details re the Lemon pasta. It keeps slipping my mind to get Mark to reach it down for me(he's 6'4")
Lidil have it when they have their special Italian food week. They also do an Orange one which I have bought but not yet used as I have no idea what to put to with. They also do Crema Di Limenchello which is uber yummy:j:j:j

Someone mentioned the SATS being cancelled(sorry can't remember who:o) I know they are not great but being honest I would love if they did go on this year as we really need a new freezer. The freezer we have is very old(Mark bought it when he bought his flat in 1987:eek:) the SATS money will hopefuly get us a much needed replacement.

I have to do a meal plan for this week. I don't know whats happening on Thursday night count wise but I do know I have to get planning. Am still loving the election. :j

This afternoon will be taken up with chasing an order up that seems to have gone missing, sorting out the tea(no idea!), need to clean the fridge and will then make a start on the thousands of things I have to do.

I have to get a grip and get myself sorted out.
I am not sleeping at all well I am awake every night at 4am and am also having trouble getting to sleep as well.

Need to put a rocket under myself.:o Anyway, am going to make a start on things.

Any omissions due to stupidity no offence.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

    Take care.

    Ann xxx

    Marie

We did get a small rise in the state pension and OH's attendance allowence. The rise does not cover the increase in the cost of food. I went to Tesco and Aldi this morning spent almost £100:eek::eek: I needed to stock up the store cupboard we had used a fair bit up. I will have to buy fresh fruit and veg during the month.......:D

    Afternoon.
Was sitting down to catch up on Glee and it would appear that after 10 mins it switched to Grey's Anatomy. I didn't even realise it was on the planner grrrrrr.
Anyway had a lovely weekend away but boy was it FREEZING! Today is sunny with a coolish breeze but it's definately warmer than the last couple of days.
Cleaned kitchen, washing up to date (done 3 loads today and 2 of them already dried on the line :D), got mount ironing to tackle tonight.

Had bank statement through. Not great news. Even accounting for purchase of new lap top it's depressing. I thought we were doing so well but it just seems for all the NSD I have my H makes up for it  Going to have a sit down and look at the figures but TBH unless he stops spending and using his ruddy Switch card its not going to improve. OK rant over :o

Apart from the house work not much OS going on. Tea tonight I think will be a baked spud or something simple.

Taplady - glad to hear the back isn't anything serious.

mioliere - glad to hear the family came over for a visit. Over far too soon I bet!

Penny - glad to hear you've not needed extra pain killers today xx

wmf - good luck with your PhD review x

JackieO - sorry to hear about your friends bad news - how tragic for them. Honestly life can just be too cruel at times.

tiredmum - hugs for you xx

Right I am sure I have missed people and I am sorry - trying to watch TV and type at the same time :o
Have a good afternoon OS or not.

    Good Afternoon Purveyors of OSiness.

Had a !!!!!! day at w*rk, glad to be away from there until next week. I am sriously seriously considering going to Uni, College or something else. I have a degree already, and used it for all of 3 months:o when I graduated - I had decided after 3rd year I didn't want to do what I was training for (I did a vocational qualification alongside my BA), but thought it better to finish it as I might change my mind. I didn't, although now I feel as if I might be better at the job with some age and wisdom behind me. So I'm thinking of looking into counselling courses or education of some sort (not schools). My menial job has filled a gap whilst the boys are young but I'm bored to tears and not giving 100%. Not to mention the way I've been messed around over flexible working.

Anyway, Os is not about my crappy job. Dinner for the boys is pizza from the freezer - not OS exactly, but HM. I am having toast and fried eggs because I fancy it! Pack ups to sort out, and cakes to make for the boys. Didn't do it yeasterday as I would have eaten them all myself!:rotfl:I will be clearing out the wardrobes after dinner and getting rid of the old clothes, some for passing on, the rest will go to the school's Bag4School collection next month. The wallpaper my lovely sis gave me is not enough to do what I wanted, so will be having a wee online search for something else later. Any suggestions for wallpaper online gratefully accepted.

Jackie I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Good wishes for him and his family, from me. X

PenPin good to hear you sounding upbeat today!

Candygirl, I can't believe you are having a sesh in a jacuzzi with a man you've just met!:p;):rotfl:

Anniestar Geekdom is taking over your life, reading polls instead of doing OS? Tut tut! :rotfl:

Have a lovely evening everyone, hugs to everyone I've missed, it's not deliberate, I've just taken up too much space already!:)
