If you don't want to work, you have to work to earn enough money so that you won't have to work ;)

Thats only if you are entitled to the full LHA award, which you are not. So that doesnt count for your circumstances.

Sorry i don't understand how am i not entitled to it..? i am entitled to a 2 bedroom place which has a LHA of £126 a week. The lady at the council said that as my rent is only £103 when they enter that into the system it will automatically calculate it to give me a weekly rental if £118. £103 + the £15...?

You are not entitled to the full rate as you will be working. Therefor there are deductions and you have to make up the shortfall in rent. Hence the figure of £63 of LHA that you will get. Not the full £126

    How much is your rent?
How much is your Council Tax?
How much do you intend to earn?
How much did you earn last year?

Hi firstly my apologies to Karen i do understand what you have said. :)

    dmg

Rent is £450 per month approx £104 per week.
Council tax i have just found out based on a flat that has just sold should be COUNCIL TAX BAND: B (Currently £1,079.46 per annum) not £1800 i put in my last post.
I intend to earn £140 working part time per week before tax and NI. Approx £133 after according to entitled to.
Earnings last tax year were £2999 as i got made redundant in the June of that year.

OK, you should get approx £220 in benefits, plus the £130 (after tax) from employment = £350 per week. Subtract £104 rent and £21 CT = £225.

However, be aware that this will be much lower next year - your TCs are so high this year because of your lack of income last year.

ok does that include the extra £15 a week because my rent is well under the LHA..?

Also sorry :). I just did another based say on this time next year with me working for a year. i put in £7280 and the result was slightly less at £121.39. Would that be correct..? I thought judging by what you said it would alot less
