i made lemon and lime vodka with the green and yellow jelly babies from 2 big packets.the vodka that i had to take out to make room for the jelly babies i made strawberry?? vodka with the red coloured ones.to be honest i havent tried either of them but my friend who makes this all the time says its fab.oh and its best to wash the cornflour off of them first.i didnt heat up the jelly babies at all but my friend said if you want them to work quicker to place the bottle of vodka + the JB`S in a basin of hot water.
good luck !!

Hi there.
I have just paid around £10 for a Gin home brewing kit.
I was just wondering if I could put anything in to it during the brewing process to add a bit a flavour? I was thinking lime zest or something?
Or would this effect the process?
Thanks

That's a new one on me - I thought you weren't allowed to make spirits without making a payment to Cusoms and Excise (HMRC)? Do you have a link to the kit, please?
Take a look at this thread on Flavoured Spirits (I'll merge this later to keep ideas together).

Will probably be very weak unless you're planning to distil it... Saw similar kits years ago, but were marketed as "gin and tonic" or similar - strength around 10-12% rather than the distilled 40%.0
