Really need small (£750) loan

You don't change basic attitudes at my age. And, with respect, you know nothing about the circumstances that led to my bankruptcy.0

It's a bit silly of you saying 'You don't change basic attitudes at my age'.
Maybe not in your case but in many other posters' attitudes here you can and indeed HAVE to change your own 'Basic Attitude'. Especially when it's towards money.
I, myself, have had to change my own Basic Attitude towards money from being someone who spent loads on CCs, loans etc and not cared as long as the full balance and/or minimum payment was paid off, to someone who (through no fault of my own) now temps, works week to week and staggeringly, whilst working weekly has now managed to see and actually factor in a SAVINGS AMOUNT. which is what's helped me out in sticky moments.
And yes, we don't know circumstances which led to your bankruptcy and indeed are not asking, but if you need this small loan at short notice and are not looking into the sensible other options (rather than selling car with major fault, as you pointed out!) then you have to wonder (respectfully) at your attitude to money.

My attitude towards money and my ridiculous outstanding debt changed in January 2009, at the age of 38.0

Maybe Helen, when you find you can't borrow this £750 that the lesson of bankruptcy will start to sink in.
And what situation other than borrowing far more than you can pay back leads to bankruptcy?0 -

Lightbulb moment ?? Good example of when somebodies attitude to money changes.
Have to agree with you there. If, as one assumes, Sarah_85 is at the ripe old age of 25 (or even if she is 25 years older) and refuses to change her attitude towards money having been made bankrupt already I can see a long, stressful and worrying time ahead of her.
Perhaps when she reaches the stage when she can not only not borrow 750 pounds for car repairs, but finds it hard to borrow a pound for a loaf of bread reality may sink in.
It's quite sad when there are deserving people on here struggling to work out how to save 10 pounds a month to balance their budgets and keep the wolf from the door, and we get an ex bankrupt shouting out 'oh come on, its only 750 pounds"0 -
I've applied to people that I thought might be sympathetic- like my bank. I do like a good chuckle when reading these forums. As others have said, it was your attitude to money that got you BR in the first place. If your attitude to money does not change soon then you will soon find yourself BR once again.I've got a bad credit rating, previous bankruptcy, etc. etc. I'm really trying to manage better, but my car suddenly needs major repair. I really need to borrow £750. Any suggestions? I've been down the QDL (and their like) road and all need a guarantor, which I cannot provide. I've applied to people I thought might be sympathetic - like my bank - but it's a no-no. I've probably made my credit rating worse by these applications, but I am rather desperate. Has anyone got any sensible suggestions? BTW, payday loans are no good cos' I won't have any more money next month.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
