Really need small (£750) loan

I've got a bad credit rating, previous bankruptcy, etc. etc. I'm really trying to manage better, but my car suddenly needs major repair. I really need to borrow £750. Any suggestions? I've been down the QDL (and their like) road and all need a guarantor, which I cannot provide. I've applied to people I thought might be sympathetic - like my bank - but it's a no-no. I've probably made my credit rating worse by these applications, but I am rather desperate. Has anyone got any sensible suggestions? BTW, payday loans are no good cos' I won't have any more money next month.

  • how do you intend to pay it back if you have no money next month?

do what I did - scrap your car (or sell on ebay) and get the bus or walk.
  • Or cycle: quick, reliable and cheap!
  • The above two comments are the only sensible suggestions you are likely to get....

Can we open the floor to the "Slap with a Wet Fish" replies now???

I'm well aware of the benefits of buses, walking and cycling, thank you. But I assume you folk don't live in the wilds of the countryside. Anyway, I didn't mean I'd have NO money next month, just that I wouldn't have £750. Come on... it's hardly a large amount. I can accept a high interest rate - I expect that - but I need longer than 1 month to repay it.

The above answers well all very helpful, just not what you want to hear. Did your bankruptcy not teach you anything? If you cannot afford something, you wait until you can afford it.
    Gone ... or have I?

Sounds like you spent many years before your BR with that attitude to debt.

How many people have you avoided repaying the money you borrowed in the past??

Can you not understand why no rational lender will even say hello to you, even the Sub Primes are turning their back on you.

  • I actually do live in the wilds of the countryside thank you :-) and yes its a pain in the !!! not having a car, but I make do cos I cant afford to get mine fixed.
I get two buses to work which takes over an hour each way, and I only live 5 miles from my job.

Get an alternative quote for the car, must be a pretty major repair.

Can you borrow this (small amount :eek::eek::eek: in your own words) for family ?

You seem to of exhausted all other routes.

You have spoken to your bank ? Payment terms with the Garage (unlikely unless they know you).

Sorry but it doesn't look hopeful.

Now that cant be right. I take a train to Leeds quite often and it normally takes 20-30 minutes and its just over 18 miles away. Its cheaper than using a car, and it gets me there quicker than a car(traffic, congestion etc...)

All you need really is to sell some things until you get paid from your job. I NEVER let my bank account reach £0. Before my aim was to never have less than £600, and now my aim is to have no less than £1000
