I have to agree, in so far as the attitudes on this web site are the worst I've ever seen.
I've never come across a site where if you post looking for help you are so likely to be shot down.
I'm not saying that I agree with the OP or anything but I do live in a small village in the middle of nowhere. There's a bus once an hour or something. There are no trains or other public transport.
The nearest train station is miles away in the opposite direction from my work.
I work shifts that public transport does not cater for.
I've walked to work in the past when I've had to and it's not even that far - 40 mins good power walking but it's a pain to rearrange childcare for this earlier time AND sometimes I NEED a car to drop my daughter off at nursery 10 miles away!
I've had car repair bills in the past of up to £700, so don't understand why people are questioning that either?
I'm sorry I don't have any advice for your OP though sarah_85
Attitudes on this website are brilliant and I have made some very close frienships from joining MSE. The only reason anyone thinks that the attitudes are wrong or people are out to get them is that they don't get the answer they were hoping for.
The people who give you answers are trying to help you to make you see that either you are wrong, being silly/stupid etc, if you don't want advice and just want someone to pat you on the head then you are most definately in the wrong place.0 -

Post of the year - you would think this place was full of dogs with so many wanting a pat on the head.
