Just had an email from Boots saying they're very sorry that the voucher they sent (for the Huggies bag) expired so quickly, and that they can't send me another voucher, but that if I gave them a ring, they would add 2500 advantage points to my advantage card so I can can go into a Boots store and buy it - woohoo! It's 3 for 2 on No.7 at the moment so I will have to be really strict with myself when I go in, otherwise I'll come out loaded down with cosmetics and no changing bag. :)

    Three cheers for Boots!!!

I'm not sure actually, I'm off to have a look on the Boots website now to see how much it is to buy it. I've got some points already on my Advantage card and some Boots vouchers that I got as a present when I left work, so I should definitely have enough to buy it one way or another!

More importantly, have you bought the jaffa cakes yet.....?

Just had a look on the Boots website and I can't find the changing bag, so will pop up later and have a look (must....resist.....No.7 counter.......).

IA - thanks very much for the offer, but we have been given LOADS and we are a bit swamped with them (that's a really nice offer though, thanks :)). My boss of all people (he's okay really ;) but I'd never tell him that!) has donated two big bags full of stuff, some of which has never been worn, and is a mixture of Next, Gap, and some designer stuff, that I would never have bought myself! (the stuff we've bought has been mainly from George lol).

    Chev - I'm due on 11th May so just over 3 weeks....eek!

Hypno - Bah!! I knew I'd forgotten something at Asda this morning!!! I'll have to hide them when I do buy them, otherwise I'll get to the hospital and find that the box is empty apart from a few crumbs lol.

I've had to do something horrible actually and I'm feeling guilty as anything about it.....

One of my friends is getting married later this year, and ages ago she asked me to be a bridesmaid. She lives in Liverpool, so not a huge distance from Leeds but at the same time it's not just a couple of miles away.

I was really happy that she asked me, and was looking forward to it, but as time has gone on, I'm realising that I'm just not going to be able to do it, and have had to write to her and tell her I need to back out (I would have rung her, but I thought it would be better to explain everything in writing first, because if I had just rung her, I would have tripped over my words and not explained properly why I was backing out).

The problem is that I'm already struggling to walk with the SPD, and after DS the SPD got much worse, so I'm scared it will happen again this time. So I might not be able to walk on the day (and would then have to back out at the very last minute, which would be much worse), and going to fittings etc is going to be tricky on crutches with 2 kids in tow. Plus I'll be breast feeding, which will be an added complication (can you imagine if she decided she needed feeding half way through the ceremony, and I had to either sneak out or feed her whilst wearing a bridesmade dress).

And I'll also be a nightmare at the dress fittings, because I think my shape will change quite a lot (I hope) between now and the wedding.

Plus hubby is having trouble getting the day off work (the wedding is on a Friday), and DS might not be able to have the day off school, because really, Mum's friend's wedding isn't a very good reason to ask the headmaster to let him be absent. And I can't leave him at home and ask someone else to pick him up, because it's his birthday the same day....how awful would he feel if, on his first birthday since the new baby, Mummy, Daddy and the new baby all went out for the day without him and he was left with a babysitter.

So, absolute nightmare......not only have I had to say I can't be a bridesmaid, but at the moment I might not be able to go at all (although one way or another I will sort out a way to be there).

I'm just hoping she will understand and not hate me :( I feel bad enough about it as it is.

    YES :D:D

But you have many valid reasons and a true friend will see that!! A true friend will not only be there for life but understand that your family (and your health) come first :A
