Wow, thank you all so much for your lovely comments and advice, I am frantically noting it down and trying to remember it all! It's getting towards 'that' time of the month so I'm feeling a bit nervous/excited but I know I've only about 15-20% chance of getting pregnant in any particular month (according to the paper the other day) so am trying not to pin all my hopes on it. If not, I'll just keep trying . Have a lovely DFW (Debt Free Wannabe) weekend everyone - don't spend too much xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hello Snaggles,
How are you getting on? I would love to be trying too - I'm trying to be sensible and wait til we've got a few more debts paid off plus my OH is taking a bit of talking round. He's keen until it comes to the reality of not using precautions!
I'm following your story. Any update on whether the time of the month has arrived?
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
Bank of Scotland = £2,782.830 -
Hello again! No, no sign yet, but realised in my excitement that it was a bit longer until 'that time of the month' than I had originally thought! (thought it was about 25th of August but its actually the following week - oh dear, I can't even count up to 28 days without making a c@ck-up, how on earth will I cope with a baby!!).
I'm still struggling on with the ailing hairdryer because I'm determined to stay on budget this month, I tried cleaning the filter (thanks Firefly) but it's still cutting out - I think it might be the thermostat. It's my birthday coming up though....hmmmm.....must start dropping obvious hints to hubby! Knowing my luck, I'll end up with a toastie machine or something instead!
In the end I decided to buy Wilko's finest Folic Acid - it was cheaper than a prescription - I think if I actually do get pregnant I will get free prescriptions though so will ask for some from the doctors if and when it happens.
So, total baby spend so far:
Folic Acid - £1.25"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Right, well I've got PMT, so I think that answers whether or not I'm pregnant this month! I'm trying not to be too disappointed but I'm a bit gutted. I realise now though that I'm spending too much time thinking about/worrying about having a baby, and for the next few weeks, I'm going to just relax, and enjoy spending time with my family. I'm not stopping trying for a baby, I'm just stopping trying quite so hard, and concentrating on enjoying the 'trying' !!
In other news, I'm just about on target to stay within budget on the shopping challenge this month, and will also be paying my credit card in full this month (all £33 of it) for only about the 3rd time in my life....hurray!
And it's my birthday next week too - can't really afford to go out but hubby says he's going to make a romantic dinner for two! He can cook as well, so I'm really looking forward to it."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Sorry to hear you had no luck this month snagglepuss. I think you are right about relaxing about it, although its easier said than done isn't it. Mind you its difficult to tell as some symtoms of PMT are the same as pregnancy so will keep fingers crossed for you just in case.
Well done on your Sc and CC :T0 -
Hi, snagglepuss, thought I might join you on this board as we're trying as well though it's been 7 months with nothing happening yet. Think the first couple of months you are thinking about it all of the time and can't relax. Am thinking about it less now as have just caught the DFW bug and am obsessing about that instead!!
Anyway, good luck, here's hoping those PMT symptoms could actually be pregnancy symptoms!0 -

Never thought of that actually  . One bad mood is pretty much the same as another isn't it lol! I think because of the timing of it, it probably IS pmt, but thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me (isn't it hard to type like that though hee hee )"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Oooh, yes, do join in, it will be nice to go through it together! Sorry it's taking a while for you, I think it will for me too to be honest because we've been trying on and off for a year or so (but only 'really' trying for a couple of months). Good luck xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Actually, I don't mind that it's taken a while as no 1 and 2 happened instantly and felt cheated of the trying part! Also I keep thinking that each month that passes would be a month further out of debt. Having said which if it went on for TOO long I might start getting a bit annoyed.0
