HI Snaggles - good to hear all is ok! Enjoy your last week at work :)

You'll have about £300 a month left for those three months on full pay - this will cover some of the shortfall in the other months?

El - ouch, try water or milk if you've got that horrible acidic stomach feeling! Just been reading about your latest culinary adventures - they weren't the Spring Rolls you buy ready made from Iceland were they lol? :D

Sea - thanks, I'm hoping so, although I suppose we have always had this £300 and I never seem to see it! I think it's time to start a spending diary again and work out exactly where it's going.

One of my sharesaves matures in August, and will be able to sell the shares in about October-ish....there will be about £4500. I can't remember if I said, but we borrowed about £2500 extra on our mortgage for some work that needed doing to the house, so this will have to be paid off (I want my mortgage to go down, not up ), but that will leave £2k, which should *hopefully* cover any shortfall or overspend we might have. That's the plan anyway!

It all sounds fine in principle, but I'm a worrier, and money keeps me awake at night lol!

Forgot to say, DS is at home ill today, he's got croup I think (he sounds like a seal barking :(), so at least I'm not out spending money on my day off.

And my boss, who gave me a bag full of baby stuff the other week, turned up with another bag this week (the next size up, as their baby is about 6 months old now I think), everything is beautiful, some of it hasn't even been worn, and is all Next, John Rocha, Gap etc (the stuff I've bought is mainly George and Tescos lol). So I'll have a beautifully dressed baby for at least the first few months!

Hi fizzel, I've got one, and another due in May. Not sure if this is right but I've based it on £17.45 per week for the first child and £11.70 per week for the second - so I think this works out at £126 per month roughly. I could be wrong though, in fact I might Google it now and find out!

I think 'technically' I'm entitled to Child Tax Credits, but I owe them money so basically I'm not getting any until that's repaid (although with 2 children I might be entitled to more, which I suppose would get it repaid quicker if nothing else).

off top of head thats about right, was going to check back on natiowide for you as i only had 2 untill last july (when number 3 made an apperance) but then i remebered i was still with barclays.

Have you looked into tax credits as i dont see anything in your post today, for 2 children on your earnings (but im not sure if you mat pay will be taken into account of not) you'd get at least 88.00 a month(cannot remeber exact figures) its worth looking into

Oh, hold on, from April 2007 it will be £18.10 for the first child and £12.10 for the second child. So that would be £30.20 per week, or £130 approx per month. Told you I'm not very good at this stuff!
