Thanks zippy, I'll go and have a look. He really doesn't get invited to many parties, and it's never really seemed to bother him, as I think he feels overwhelmed by big groups of people, but this boy seemed to be being purposely hurtful to him, and I was quite shocked to see it happen, as they're only 6 years old. God, I'm going to be a complete wreck by the time he's a teenager."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hello again!
Right, enough of the baby stuff, need to get the money side of things sorted. I've just got my bonus for this year, and while it's not much, it has paid off the credit card bill I've managed to run up over the last few months, and also paid off my overdraft (went a *bit* overdrawn accidentally - only by £80 but still annoying when I'm trying to be debt free). So there's no bonus left to spend on any treats....what a surprise.....but at least I'll be starting my maternity leave with a clean sheet, so to speak.
I've recently found out I'm entitled to more maternity pay than I expected too (I thought I would get 12 weeks full pay, then 14 weeks SMP, but will actually get 12 weeks full pay, then SMP for 27 weeks, which is virtually all of my maternity leave).
Will put together an SOA later, as I really need to get my head around whether or not we have saved up enough money for me to have 9 months off!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Hello lovely people, sorry for the lack of updates, I've been working lots (it's my last week), and decorating our bedroom, so all I've been able to do in between is sleep, sleep, sleep. I've just checked my emails and had 27....oops!
Right, SOA time - it's not looking too bad for the first 3 months at least because I'll get full pay, so will have to try and save as much as I can for the following six months so that we wont end up hugely in debt.
I can't think further ahead than the next 3 months at the moment, so will just do my SOA for April to June, and then will update it at the start of July for July to December. Might take me a while to type it up - never realised how many things we had to pay for!!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Income
My salary - £800 per month
Hubby's salary - £830 per month
Child Benefit - £120 per month-ish (can't remember exactly how much it will be)
TOTAL - £1750 per month
Outgoings
Electricity - £44
Gas - £56
Account fee - £11.95 (we both get mobile phone insurance and travel insurance with this, so it's worth keeping)
Car Loan £75.90 (6.1%)
Tv/Internet/Phone - £50 approx (including calls)
Mobile phone £30 (£15 each)
Cancer research donation - £5
Buildings/contents insurance - £19.26
Tv Licence - £11.37
Life & critical illness insurance - £17.54
Son's savings account - £10
Car Insurance - £79.64 (2 cars)
Mortgage - £290
Contact Lenses - £14.95 (might cancel this while I'm on maternity leave as I have about 6 spare pairs at the moment, and could probably find cheaper when I run out)
Mortgage Payment Cover - £11.89
Council Tax - £80
Water - £30
Petrol - £150 (eek! Should be less with only one of us having to drive to work, as we will be doing 250 miles less per month)
Shopping - £200
Sharesaves - £250 (these would normally be deducted from my salary but will have to set them up as a seperate standing order while on maternity leave)
TOTAL - £1447.50
Phew! So not looking too bad but will be very tight when I go onto SMP as we will be about £350 per month worse off, so will have to find some areas to make cuts (I know, there's loads of areas we're overspending, I'm sure ). Petrol springs to mind, I'm sure this will be much less. And there are definitely some 'non-essentials' in there!
I've got my car tax saved up (due in May), and the credit card has just been paid off - haven't allowed anything for birthdays, Xmas, haircuts, clothes, FUN of any kind (lol) etc though, so will have to be careful!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
