    Lol tigtag :D

Awwww, I was just cuddling Natasha and she was dozing off to sleep, when suddenly she laughed!! It was so funny, it was a proper little giggle and her face had a huge beaming smile on it!

She doesn't laugh when she's awake, so I wonder what she was dreaming that was so funny?!

Over the last few weeks I've been trying various brands of baby 'stuff' to see which are the best value, so I thought I'd note them down on here to keep track of them and also in case it helps anyone else. This week I've tried Asda Smart Price nappy sacks, Asda Little Angels nursing pads, and Boots own brand nappies.

The nappy sacks are fab, I think they're 73p for 200 and are just as good as the more expensive ones (they even smell quite nice....until you put a dirty nappy in them, that is lol). The plastic isn't quite as thick as some, but it doesn't cause a problem, I've not had any of them burst open at all.

The nursing pads are another matter. They're half the price of the Johnson and Johnson ones so I thought *bargain*, but I'm using at least twice as many, they leak, they're not very comfortable, and the sticky bit (that you stick to the inside of your bra to stop them moving about) is rubbish. I definitely wont use them again.

The Boots nappies are exactly like Pampers, and are quite a lot cheaper (especially at the moment as they're on special offer), but overall I think I prefer Huggies, as they're stretchier and seem to fit Natasha a lot better.

Nest time I go shopping I'm going to try some different brands of wipes to see which of them are the best price-wise without irritating Natasha's skin.

I agree with the nappy sacks from t'asda and I always used their own nappies with little legs too - have you tried those yet?

No, I haven't tried the Asda nappies yet, but I will do when I run out of money off vouchers for Pampers and Huggies! :D

I used them with Ryan, and although I liked the nappies themselves, we found there were always some faulty nappies in each pack, so we gave up on them. That was 6 years ago though, so I'm sure they're better now!

Lidl's nappies and wipes are good. After using cloth for years, I always found that Pampers or Huggies smelt really horrible if I used them when on holiday or whatever, but Lidl's don't. Also, when I tried Tesco's own, it was as Snaggles says above, there'd always be some faulty ones so it didn't work out any cheaper, but Lidl's seemed much better.
Ali - still pretty much a newbie, need to brush up my MS habits!

Hi Ali, I haven't tried the Lidl ones but we do go to Lidl occasionally so I'll try them next.

I've just bought some reusable ones (cotton bottoms) but I didn't shop around which was a bit silly of me (could have bought them much cheaper on the internet ), and Natasha doesn't seem to like them, but I'll give them another try when she's a little bit bigger, so they wont swamp her as much. I'd really like to get the hang of them, if only so I don't feel like I've wasted money on them!

    Hi Snaggles,

I just caught up with the end of ur threads and saw ur nappy dilemma. I also bought 'real' nappies for DS (Onelife) but when he was first born, they were just too big and clumsy for him - I'd lay him on his back and his bottom was higher than his head! But as he got bigger, they became a lot better fitting, and now I wouldn't be without them. You don't get the horrible wee smell, and overnight especailly, they keep his bottom a lot drier. I found as soon as I stopped using disposables, he didn't get nappy rash.
The only downside really is that they're not very practical for holidays (unless you like to take extra suitcases and spend ur whole time washing!)

We use tesco nappies for both the girls and they're fab. Wouldn't go back to posh nappies now. Our baby wipes are 59p a pack from home bargains but don't get the tesco value wipes as they're always sopping wet.

Got any recent piccies of your cutie? :D
