Wow, loads of replies! I only signed off for a couple of hours.....accidentally bumped into the Dolcis shop in the White Rose Centre and a bag fell into my hand so of course I had to pay for it - didn't want it to look like I was shoplifting! :rotfl: rotfl:

Elantan - Not sure if it's the law, but I think more places are encouraging breastfeeding. It's so silly if people frown on it, it's natural isn't it? It's just silly me that gets embarrassed, I think it's great when other people do it.

Lenny - I'd be more suspicious of you if you DIDN'T have a healthy interest in boos lol - and you DO have plenty to contribute - I've seen you give fab advice on other threads.

Tigtag - Yes, she does seem to be getting enough milk, she's not constantly hungry, she's sleeping well etc, I'm probably worrying over nothing (what's new eh?)

Sea - It probably will be easier when the milk calms down a bit - it can spurt a really impressive distance now, and anyone within a half mile radius is in danger of getting a bit! :o

Sarah - I seemed to be trying to get pregnant for ages. In truth, I haven't used contraception of any kind in the 6 and a half years since we had ds, but it wasn't until we started REALLY trying (counting days, timing cycles etc) that I got pregnant, but even then it took a good few months. Apparently the most important thing is to enjoy the trying! ;)

Pap - Who says you can't add anything useful - cuddles are always useful!

Jammiedodga - Thanks hunny, and yes, I think I'm probably managing an extra 500 calories! :D I'm still losing weight, although it's more gradual now (it was amazing how fast it dropped off in the fortnight after the birth!). Not sure if there are any breastfeeding supporters in the area, I'll ask the health visitor tomorrow. With ds it was so easy - just pointed him in vaguely the right direction and he did the rest, but being a little lady, Natasha is a little bit more fussy!

Gavinh1 - We didn't qualify for the Surestart grant, but thanks for the tip, I know a lot of people do qualify for it.

Hope I haven't missed anyone - thanks for all the support. :happyhear

    Snaggles,
Keep up the good work-I found breastfeeding DD a lot harder than DS. I think the boob facsination (?) is a genetic thing, lol
(Joe is always wanting to play with my boobies! He calls them lemons! lol lol)

I really don't think you need to worry about breast feeding in public-I always tried to find a nice quiet spot where we could relax and not be bothered (ie. loos or coffee shop-park bench, etc) but I did wear a poncho that covered up everything! Including the kids...

    Big snuggles to you all,

Hey bunneeeeeee! We're missing you, how's things?

I never thought of that - boys and boobs eh? DS asked the other day if he could try some milk  - I told him he wouldn't like it, and that it was just for babies!

    Edit - Lemons, lol!!

    How are things?
Not bad to be honest...Glad we're moving into another house but DH (Saint Scott) has been like a bear with a sore head today and is doing my nut in. I am looking forward to Canada next week-I was aprehensive at first but now am looking forward to it.
I'm also starting to look for a 'real' job lol

Do you have a date for the move yet? I'm so jealous of you going to Canada - as you know (from my previous 'dumb questions about Canada' post) I know very little about it, but it's somewhere I'd love to visit.

What sort of job are you looking for? And ideas yet?

Sorry to hear Scott is doing your head in - men!!

    Lurker peeping out again....

Just a thought re breast feeding.. Do you wear tops that button up or more t shirt style tops? Reason for asking is that when my two were feeding (now 9 & 8!!!!) I wore t shirt style rather than button up. At the time the advise was to wear a button up as it was easier to feed. Unfortunately it was also quite revealing!! Best I found was to wear something you could lift up to feed little one, also using a lightweight shawl/scarf to cover babe's head (and your boob!).
    Take care.

Must admit ... Am really envious (broody!)!! of your current situation.!(but not stupid.! Been there got the t-shirt etc etc! Plus my age (41eek!!!) would not be to my advantage.

Can smell the new born baby smell mmmmmm.

    All the best

Hi peluja, I've been wearing t-shirts - did think about wearing something with buttons, but I think I'd find it more revealing, as you say. I haven't got a nursing bra though, as I really don't like them and they're not very supportive, but I think I'm going to have to give in and buy one.

I can relate to the inappropriately timed broodiness - I spent all of last week desperately wanting to be pregnant again!  You're not too old at 41 though ;)

    Hey Snaggles

You sound like you are doing ace with the feeding. I fed both mine and found it very hard work. In public I used a blanket or whatever was handy to cover boob up, also used to have quite a cool sling and you couldn't see a thing - I just sold one of ebay or you could have gladly had it - meant my DS could feed in secret.

I'm sure there's plenty of milk there and she sounds very content, especially i she's sleeping bless her. I had a problem with my supply with my DS (he was 9lbs 12.5 oz   jeez did that hurt!) and I had to drink tons of water and eat anything with oats in.

Aaahh you're making me all broody now and I swore we weren't having anymore
