Snaggles, just wanted to say good luck for the next couple of weeks.

You got me feeling broody, although I've already got 3 and it really would do my finances up if we went for another, also wouldn't be too good for the sanity!!!

Look forward to hearing your good news :)

Oh god - the bath - i had one after DS but was so happy to actually be getting clean within 4 hours of having him unlike with DD which was more like 16hrs - ewwwwwwww. One of reasons why I never wanted another epidural.

I also nearly collapsed in the shower after DD so bath was better for that! Could be on my own without OH!!

Oh what lovely things we do for kids.

I had a shower with DS 1 & 2 as the bath after DD was, as you say, awful!

I gave birth to my second in the kitchen so had to walk upstairs naked to have a bath, the house looked like a horror movie, there was blood from one end to the other, it took my poor hubby hours to clear up it was under the washing machine, kitchen cuboards, up the stairs... :D

Blimey Zippy, you don't do things by halves do you? Where you planning a home birth or did it just happen that way?

Home births were not really offered when I had mine, but I knew a midwife through the school so quite late on she said could have one and she would be my midwife and she arranged another as back up. I went into labour and she came out and said nothing was happening so hubby went back to work and she left, so I was on my own, my waters broke so I called hubby, but it was so quick I was hanging off the kitchen counters through contractions, they couldn't find another midwife prepared to come to a home birth so by the time two arrived with gas and air I wanted to push and couldn't get upstairs, it was horrible and scary to be honest I thought hubby was going to deliver her. My first hospital birth being induced was much better!

So glad it's not just me that's experienced the 'abattoir' experience...

How about the midwife shoving hugely engoreged breasts into a screaming child's gob as their way of 'showing you how to breastfeed'?
