Ladies - you are all fabulous !!!!:T:T
Thank you all for taking the time to have a think about my mum's visit and responding - I really appreciate it! Some fab ideas - especially the wheelchair based ones - thanks again - you are all like a merry band of virtual helper elves!
I'll have a look into the things you have suggested and I'm sure at least one will be suitable!
Had a mega busy day so far but been good - went shopping and stayed within grocery budget (just!), bought lovely christening pressie (little pewter trinket box) for just £15 in a little shop I'd never been in before, bought strappy black shoes from New Look (never thought of looking there but was passing) for £20 and then a 20% student discount so £16!!! Bargain!
Done all the housework, OH is tackling the garden as we speak, washing sorted and in machine now, dog taken for an hour long run to tire him out and we've decided not to go to cinema but stay in with popcorn and sweets and a movie and a "cuddle" instead saving about £20. Phew! And its only 3pm!
Think its time for a sit down - have a lovely afternoon - still sunny here!0 -

Yeay - the weekend! Not too much money saving as I'm off :-(
- Wallpaper stripping (free 'activity')
- Got a lift to the theatre with parents (saving petrol) - they paid for the tickets too!
- Did my end of month finances - basically balancing everything (although I do do this continually) and anything left over goes off cards or into websaver and I start afresh with new salary. I am delighted to say I managed to have about £200 left on top of my regular savings at the start of the month - this is a VERY good month. Would have been even better but have had to hold back some leftover housekeeping for extra gas/electric next month due to changing provider
Proud to have dealt with my debts:
Lightbulb moment - Jan 08. Debts - circa 7k
Debt free date 26/02/09
