Thanks for the messages Triangle and Littlekel!

Am just trying to think about what we can do that doesn't cost much, will cheer her up and is fun?
Just to let you know my sister uses a wheelchair so that rules out some activities, I'm skint and mum is 63.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!
We always go shopping and eating so maybe something for a change would be a good idea. I've looked into theatre and shows but there's nothing on thats worth spending £25 each on a ticket.

    Ladies I need your help!

I'll give it some thought and come back to you rachel

    Morning all,

I have checked online banking - all bills out except ct and gas/elec. Gas and elec takes about a week after the 1st to come out, even though I asked for the 1st.

    I need to:

    Check job sites
    [STRIKE]Enter comps
    See to pets
    Take rubbish out
Use love2shop vouchers to get paints for the garden[/STRIKE]

Me and OH did all the garden, took 4 a half hours. Cost £46 - £16 love2shop vouchers. The bark was buy 3 get one free so saved £18 on that and the plants were buy one get one free so saved another £10 on that.

I hope everyone has a good day!
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

    Hi Rachel

Wondered if you'd fancy taking your mum and sister to this concert, it's where I work:

    http://www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk/performance/15129.aspx

We do 50% discount for wheelchair users so wouldn't be that expensive? It may not be what you guys like but thought I'd show you anyway! Most places will do a discount for wheelchair users so it's always worth asking. If it's something you'd be interested in PM me and I'll see if we have any further discounts when I'm back at work on Tuesday.

Anyway, I'm now a married woman! However, I've spent far too much money recently so have to get back on track. So, today I have:

    - done daily scratches, 10 10
    - checked banking, all fine - especially as refund came for flights cancelled for honeymoon (boo to the volcano)
    - joined May grocery challenge - setting ourselves a £65 target for the month, eek...
    - need to join NSD challenge - thinking 15 days?
    - looking for £5 or less toy to order using Mamas and Papas gift card (see Grabbit thread)
    - hokey cokey while the sun's out - so happy to now have a washing machine and a garden to hang it out in!

Have a good day everyone x

Hi folks , i'm at sixes and sevens today :( Can't work out my luck. I swapped my shift yesterday to help someone out , the early that i should have done was quiet but my late shift was horrendous - worst i've had in 3 years of this job.
Got home very late to find a product recall on the lappy that I am using while my netbook is being repaired - can use it as long as the battery is out but it keeps switching off !
Hardly slept as so wound up and now have a shocking headache, but recieved a parcel in post - won a cycling kit ( ok i dont cycle but my brother does - it was the holiday i wanted) and my dad has rung to say he has a nearly new tumble dryer i can have - don't like them but it was like a chineses laundry in here last year.

Phew it will be a bottle of wine starting early tonight :o

    today i will :
    • make something in slow cooker with meat i found in back of freezer
    • check online banks
    • HC on line - pray it doesnt rain
    • go to local shops for veg ( and more wine !)
    • rearrange small bedroom for dryer - no room in kitchen
    • general good sort out and maybe list some stuff
    • competitions
    • surveys
    • check freebies board
    And breathe ........:rotfl:
When it rains look for Rainbows
When its Dark look for Stars

Where abouts do you live and does your sister get DLA?
There are loads of reduced rate activities you could do, if your sister has a disabled cinema card then that admits one carer free, maybe go and see a chick flick??
PM me if you would like more ideas as my son is disabled so I always asked for disabled rate :money:

rachel - try a museum or national trust property? My mum and I've had some fun doing things like that. Not all are fully accessible but we've had discounts for limited access. Also, what about looking for a country park if the weather is nice - picnic, spotting birds and animals and just catching up?

Or, could you see if there are any jewellery shops that do make your own classes - you should get a few hours each for under £25. Might find one wheelchair accessible?
