LIR congrats on your new home. Its a scary time, but also an exciting one:D

Well I bought MC today for the free BS body butter. I got the Love etc one and I am loving it. Using it as a hand cream though as I have loads of body butter already. Trouble is I really want the matching fragrance now:o:rotfl:

Congrats LIR! OH and I are just now starting to save up for a deposit.

I have sold a few more unused toiletries on ebay today, so I'm a very happy bunny. Granted, I didn't get a lot for them, but I'm happy to recoup a few quid here and there and to have them go to a good home.

No use ups, but I'm edging closer with my Naked Shine shampoo and random freebie Naked Rose with no clothes shimmering body lotion. Tell you what, their stuff definitely lasts ages! I'm probably 5-7 days away from finishing my Burt's Bees Radiance eye creme too which has lasted the longest, more than 2 years of really regular usage!

  • Thanks for the kind messages everyone.

And big congratulations to LiR!!! That's fantastic news. Keep us posted on progress and ur dates for exchange/completion etc!

Had a bad experience with an old face mask last night - must have started to turn funny in the tube because when I put it on my face the consistency resembled snot!! Then my face started to sting and I couldn't get it off. But calm has since been restored and the face mask is in the bin! :)

The Elle McPherson body butter just won't die!
Thought tonight would be the night but sadly not. One or two more goes and I can move on (hopefully).
A Johnson's shower gel in the bin tonight too - WIBA - nothing special, OK as an every day one.

Our ofer has finally been accepted: we got the house.

OMG, how can I draw out my diminished stash, rofl.

Excellent news LIR - soooo pleased for you! Don't be scared of the mortgage either, just start killing it little by little! :D

My roll on deodorant ran out this morning at last. It was a Superdrug one with quite a nice floral scent - IIRC I paid about 69p or thereabouts for it. WIBA? Probably, yes. It's a good price, works well and I do quite like a roll on through the warmer weather so as and when I need to buy again I may well go back for this. Before that though I have two of the Dove GoFresh ones which were better than free a few months back with the vouchers, and I think another Boots one too - all spray types.

Well I listed a S&G Peace de Resistance set yesterday on ebay free listing and it sold - whooo.

Posted today but it was mega heavy and cost me £1.50 more in postage than I'd charged but still up overall as it was a present and I wouldn't have used it.

Forgot that I had bought some Twisted Sister products in H&B with my Mum last week. The little ones that I can pack when I do overnights for work.

Found a studioline curl spray that is absolutely brilliant and think I've had it about 10 years LOL.

Oh also just remembered I bought a Sally Hansen 5 minute French Manicure kit in TK Maxx. Got it because it has a pen to draw the white tip on that I thought would be easy. WRONG! Absolutely rubbish, doesn't come out properly and had to take it all back off. The two polishes are okay though but didn't really need anymore clear and slightly pearly ones but hey ho.

Someone else was talking about roll on deodorant earlier which prompted me to google one I've had which I buy if ever I see it. It's Dove Cucumber and White tea and it smells lovely.

I have two deodorants on the go at the moment (one in each bathroom), an Almay gel WIBA probably not pretty boring and a bit messy and a Soft and Gentle (not sure what its called but it has a red top) WIBA yes if I couldn't get the Dove one or the Sanex natru pure one.

Im still struggling with the desire to try this lemon body butter from the BS - but ive got lots from my hatbox still i think :(

i will be good,i will be good,i will be good,i will be good.....

You could try opening it next time you have used one up, instead of starting on the next S&G one. :)

I have used up a Colgate whitening toothpaste. WIBA - yes, I like it. I'll put £1 in the pot as it was on BOGOF (anyone seeing a pattern here? lol). Started a Boots Smile freebie one, neither of us like it much. Ho hum.

I also pampered my feet last night, gave them a good scrub and slathered them in hemp butter, popped on some socks and put my feet on a HWB - they were so soft this morning!!! :D

I had a good night last night – finished 3 splutterers!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Thermal protection Hair Serum. WIBA? Probably not – I liked it, definitely worked, and left my hair nice and thick as well as soft and shiny, but there are cheaper hair serums which work just as well. Was good on the 3 for £2 offer though :) Have just opened my final one to use now.
Clinique 7 day scrub (Bonus time sample). WIBA? No – it was good, and I liked having it in the shower and using quite frequently (not that harsh) but I think I’d prefer a harsher scrub to use less often.
Lush Dreamwash. WIBA? No! doesn’t lather, leaves an odd coating on my skin like it won’t wash off, and does nothing for my skin. Never again. I have plenty of other shower gels to use anyway!

The only problem now is I now have 4 empty lush black tubs, so I really want to go and buy myself another facemask (I love those) and then return the 5 black tubs for another free one… :rotfl:

I will resist, and once I have used up my stash of face masks (that’ll take a few months!) I can then treat myself to 2 Lush masks for the price of one, which will be a great reward :D

    Hi all,

well I will be updating my sig, since I have BOUGHT some stuff. I couldn't resist the latest bodyshop glitch, so splashed out out and got 3 body butters (techinically free, since they were free with other products). I do still have some body lotion, but it was a gift (I hate the stuff) so I am giving it away (in charity bag as we speak!!).

I will be buying toothpaste and a new mascara later this week, since I need it!

I reckon I have saved approx £250, since I started this challenge, putting money in a pot each time I have used something up. That includes perfumes, scrubs, body lotion/butter, face mask/packs, shampoo & conditioner, various leave in hair conditioners & hair treatments, hand cream, moisturiser & makeup remover, lipstick & mascaras, blusher, eyebrow penci,l shower gel, bath soak/oil......and probably a few other things I cant remember.

I have a lot more room, a real sense of satisfaction using up so many bottles, tubs & pots, and a better idea of what I like, what I need, and what I will use!!!

So good luck to all those still in the challenge,:A and I will pop in now and again to see what you are all up to.

    katiexxx:)

Forgot to say, I also acquired a few new bits and pieces last night, but at zero spend! I had some free makeup items I'd never use, so offered them to a couple of friends, and ended up getting some swaps, though that wasn't the intention :rotfl:

Have acquired 2 beautiful smelling body lotions - small tubes so shoudl go quickly; a rather large perfume sample of a fragrance I haven't tried yet, and is quite different to my usual; and a lovely posh cream blusher - think it's Estee Lauder.
