Hi all, just caught up. Some of you already know that I have been naughty and succumbed to BS glitches but I am now back on the wagon and resisting the current one (which is damn good, 3 butters and 3 foot sprays for £10.20!!!!!! Argh, so tempted)

    If
    used up:
vitamin e eye cream (superdrug) - wiba no. i know many people love it on here. it has nice brighteners but i found it a bit drying. so even though its dead cheap i wont buy it again.

I find the same, strangely! It does tighten up the skin under my eyes really wel, but isn't 'moisturising' enough for all day wear. I only use it for nights out to make me look more awake lol!

I don't get on here very often but am still sticking to the no-buying rule, I finished a LE c&p last week and have started another (4 to go!) and also finished a LE superskin moisturiser. I'm not so keen on that-prefer the skin repair and have started one of those (1 full size to go and 3 smaller sizes).Luckily the superskin works well on my youngest who has excema on his face so the 2 I have leftover from TSV's will get used.
My DD came back from a holiday in Malta last week. She stayed with her bf's mum and step dad. They run a hotel, and his mum gave them both the pick of a huge box of toiletries that people have left behind when they leave. She only keeps the unopened ones-she said there was about a hundred bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, body moisturiser, hand wash and spray deoderant etc. She chose a few things for herself but also brought stuff for me (I have told her I'm trying to use up all my hoarded stuff lol!) so I ended up with a few shampoos I have never tried and the matching conditioner, a really beautiful body creme- a German one I have never heard of but it smells absolutely devine and is so rich, 2 lots of handwash and 3 different shower gels. She also picked up some mens shower gel and deoderant and some facial skin wash for oily skin for her brother which I though was nice of her. So my cupboard is bursting again! Sigh-I'll just hate trying all this new stuff lol.

She also went out on Friday and came back with this Aldi cream that was mentioned in the Daily Mail (for me.) I'm not sure about using it as the aldi daycream made my skin very dry and sore last year but she wants me to see if it's as good as they said. I don't really have many wrinkles though (just a few under my eyes when I smile)so not sure what that stuff is supposed to do? You can't use it around the eyes anyway!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

Went to the body shop yesterday and they were having a promotion where you could get a free sample of anything. Perfect timing as i was able to get a sample of their free vitamin e cream.

Without noticing I'm precariously low on both tigi curl cream and frizzease. I've finishdthe dregs of two other seurums (on already listed here) and I'm going to replace the tigi but also look for a cheaper option for every day.

I'm also out of liquid foundation. I have a mineral powder one left, but just finding it too heavy. My skin is good, and improving since this challenge and oil cleansing, but I still do get quite horid spots, both routinely/hormones and stress. I'm thinking that I might try and do with out new liquid foundation until I have an ''event''. This would be a huge change for me. I am a makeup junky and wear it a lot....but I prefer more expensive brands (althouh as part of this challenge I have used up a couple of attempts at moving down a rank).

If I succeed for more than a week I will amazed.

For some reason I am not receiving email messages notifying me of posts ot any of the MSE threads I am subscribed to although this has happened before and as soon as I post again they do come through. Is this normal? I've checked my Profile and all the right boxes are ticked.

Anyway I have used up this week a small bottle of Balance Me Ylang Ylang shower gel. WIBA? Not sure, I liked it but not sure I would pay the price of it again as I find the Original Source ones work just as well if I want a zesty fresh shower gel.

Have bought three things this week however two of them are MSE: got the Instyle mag with the free Nails Inc. polishes - Candy and Mink. Also, bought a bottle of Tesco BNatural cream cleanser as I need to try something new to get rid of the splurge of whiteheads I now have. I therefore deem this a necessary purchase and not an expensive one either. x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Hi everyone!

Having followed this thread for quite a while now I thought I'd share some of my use-ups! :j

Elle McPhearson exfoliating scrub - WIBA - probably not, has lots of scrubbing bits in it but quite watery and I wasn't keen on the smell.

Nivea visage natural beauty radiance boosting moisturiser - WIBA - no no no! Although it smells gorgeous it doesn't seem to soak in. I'm not sure if you're supposed to be able to wear it under make up but as soon as I apply foundation it goes into clumps. I used it up on my arms and legs in the end - not very MSE but better than throwing it in the bin!

Several deodrants - no idea why I had such a stash of half used up ones!

Tesco vitamin e face wipes - WIBA - only about 28p for 25 and they do the job so will get some more when all my other wipes have gone.

Body shop soap - I can't find the packaging but I think i was cranberries. Smells gorgeous and also exfoliates. Definitely would buy again (if I can find what it was!)

My boyfriend and I have just purchased our first home together and so this is my motivation for using up the stash - to save some money and to make some room in our little house! :)

Congratulations. We are waiting to find out if an offer has been accepted, and I'm sort of wishing I had more stash left now :o:o I don't think we'll be able to afford hot water, let alone nice smellies to put in the hot water :rotfl::o
  • Thanks lostinrates - we get the keys on Friday!! :D

I don't think my boyfriend quite realises the extent of the stash so since we made our offer in mid-March I've been working my way through it!

I have to say I'm grateful for my stash too because with the mortgage payments and bills it might be a while before I can splurge again on toiletries I think. What I have hoarded away will see me through for a few months to come I'm sure!!!

Thought I was doing well - picked up a nail varnish in M&S but managed to put it back down again. Then went to Mr T for my weekly shop and bought mag because of free NAil Inc nail varnish. :(

Remembered to use the St Tropez body scrub in the shower today. Still quite a lot left. Still using the very floral shower gel but cannot face the body lotion. Just using it in kitchen after washinghands after chopping garlic etc.
