Hello all,
I'm new to posting on MSE, but trying to take control of our spending and get some debts paid off, so would like to join in on your NSDs if possible?
I'm Anna, mum to two small kids and married to their Dad - we live in Edinburgh. Am hoping for a NSD tomorrow, fingers crossed2021 wins: eco-friendly bedding bundle0 -

Having an awful day today
Car made it to the garage over here and then they went all stupid on me, couldn't find the bit that needed fixing (even though I'd given them the broken bit and told them what it was!) Then they left a message to say it would be nearly £100 to fix it and could I ring them back, but they'd left the phone on so took ages to get through to them and it still isn't fixed and they said it isn't the bit the RAC man called it. I now have no idea which bit has been fixed (if any) so am going to have to go in and grumble tomorrow. Dh's car in the meantime has started making serious scrunching noises (aaaaaaaarggh!) Is likely to be a very high spend day tomorrow and had to spend on bus fare home from garage today
Sorry for rantMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

On-line for the first time since Friday tea-time, having been away for the weekend - and going straight to work without coming home first!
Declaring Saturday as NSD #16, and Sunday as NSD #17 :T
Weekend was pretty frugal. Used less than half a tank of petrol (judging by my fuel guage), so that wasn't as bad as I'd expected. Took some food from home, and the only food shop I did while away was a few bits for tea yesterday (around an £8 bill - which included a bottle of red wine for OH - all of which is being charged to my social life budget and as such isn't included for this challenge). Accomodation cost me/us nothing - apart from £1.50 for 7.5kWh of electricity. Didn't use the gas or phone at all, so no charges for those. OH paid for bread and milk to take up, and paid for lunch out on Saturday - plus an ice-cream each on Saturday and Sunday and Pay&Disp parking yesterday.
My mobile rang almost as soon as I got a signal coming home, and it was work..... so (as I don't have hands free and was driving) it was ignored until we got back to OH's. Appears the manager I told that I couldn't get in until my offical 1pm today (this was last Thursday, when I first saw they'd changed the rota the previous weekend and given me a 7am start) hadn't passed the message on to anyone else - and they wanted to know why I wasn't there..... and then if I could get in early!! They got all of 15 mins extra from me, and only got that as I'd taken a uniform with me which meant I could go in without coming home first.
Today is about to become a spend day..... DS didn't use any of the money I left to replenish expenses, but I've come home to no milk or bread  Also need to sort out something for tea, but it's too warm for just about everything in the freezer (all of which would have to be cooked from frozen having not been home before work), so thinking of picking up eggs, mushrooms and salad so we can have omelettes.
7 days left of the month after today, so I'm going to be brave and raise my target from my vastly exceeded 11 to 20...... but only 'cos I want a dancing banana to go with my elephantCheryl0 -

Three rubbish unnecessary spend days in a row, boohoo!! Was at work all weekend (unbearably hot for working) and I couldn't resist the lure of nice cold cider on the way home - maybe I need to join the cutting down alcohol thread too?! It would certainly help my NSD's!
Nice family BBQ tonight, and first committee meeting of our festival planning group - we have a small secret music festival in our mums huge garden every year, time to start hunting out some bands who'll play for free or a few pints:beer:Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
