CW18: Just downloaded your spreadsheet. Took one look at it, put my knickers on my head, stuck two pencils up my nose and said 'wibble' HSjester.gif
It's really not thaaaaaaat bad once you get your annual budget figures sorted and input ;)

My own personal version is a lot more complicated....... it tracks all my staff discounts, value of vouchers, and pennies received in change as well (which all go into my sealed pots)

Mine also monitors what percentage of my grocery spend has been spent on Whoopsies, and how that compares to last year in terms of spend, percentage of total grocery spends, and total 'real' value of groceries. I'm planning to adapt it further next year to monitor Whoopsie/special offer spends against what I'd buy as an alternative (eg. B1G2F R@gu sauces against 3xMr T Value, or Whoopsied 'posh' Kievs against Mr T value frozen ones)
Seriously though, what a great spreadsheet :T:T:T:T
    Thanks :)
Had a quick go at putting in some figures and scared the life out of myself, do I really spend that much each month? (unfortunately the answer was a resounding YES).
That was me in the last quarter of 2008, when I started to develop it :o

LfV, I couldn't get the spreadsheet to work, I don't know what I was (or was not) doing. I think it smelled my fear!!!

Today wasn't an NSD - but I did get another lunch bought for me ;). Think I've stretched the birthday thing as far as is possible now though! I bought some bits and pieces I needed in Bo*ts. But the check-out girl was lovely and told me if there was anything else at all I needed, if I spent another couple of pounds, I could get the voucher to get money off my moisturiser. So she kept hold of my stuff while I went in hunt for extra conditioner as it will always get used!

Then I bought myself a book of sewing type projects - warning my friend that, if she got a falling to pieces cow door stop for her birthday, she was to recognise it as a fabulously constructed cow door stop and use it accordingly ;) Hmmm, i guess that means I need to admit my sins on the No buying books challenge...

I also won my bid on a dress-makers dummy eventually (had my eye on them for months) :T:T:T
I'm thinking I should order a few things I need online just now just to get the spending out of the way today and concentrate on NSDs next week! :)

Keiss - it's lovely to hear you talk of your friend. I always find it really helps me. I was a carer for a lady who had had a stroke and she was a wonderful character - swore like a trooper if she heard an ounce of impatience in your voice (threw a cup of tea at me once! I was very tired that day and she knew it!) and if I didn't "drive" her wheelchair properly and hit a pot-hole, she'd shout out "Miss, she's hitting/killing me". A bit embarrassing, but I definitely learned to "drive" the chair most carefully! She was fab! And I talk to my Grandad constantly as I'm go about my daily tasks. He gets the blame for more now than he ever did when he was around and causing havoc (i.e. playing tricks on grandkids, that only a grandad can get away with!)

It is a very difficult time and only you know how best to work through it in your way and your time, but I suspect your therapist is right - get out into the garden and never feel worried about talking about or to your friend. Take care xxx

Thank you so much for that niccatw, lovely memories.

I must admit, I talk to Mum
every day (she died over 5 years ago now)...I have a picture of her in my bedroom. Dad and my 2 sisters have the same piccie, so she gets lots of conversations every day!! It took me a while to start talking to her, but now I do it daily, perhaps I will do the same with my friend.

Definitely off to bed now....night night :)

    Hi Keiss
Your friend sounds lovely and it seems as though she made the most of, and enjoyed, her life right until the end. Hope you manage to talk to her family tomorrow and that it helps.
Good to hear you talking about her and you’ll probably find that, given time, you start talking to her - all part of the healing process I guess.

Feel free to talk about her on here - we’re all good listeners I think.

Take care and thinking about you
    xx

slowlyfading: hope the shopping went OK and wasn’t too painful;)
LadyfromVenice: fine to take family shopping with you, just leave them in the car in future:eek:....... I used to go with OH until I realised it was costing me twice as much as he thinks he doesn’t like the cheaper brands:eek:...
cw18: wow... that’s a lot of cheese:eek:.. and lots more bargains as well!!
No problem about putting the link to your spreadsheet on this thread, if you don’t mind, that is... would probably be useful for lots of us (even the spreadsheet-phobics like myself):)
katenut: well done for a small spend day.... sounds as though you had a lovely day out in the fresh air as well:)
nicca: we have to excuse you not getting many NSDs at the moment as you’ve been out and about so much celebrating your birthday! Well done on the vouchers from B**ts today. The sewing projects book sounds interesting - trust we’re going to see some pictures soon - and well done for getting the dressmakers dummy, hopefully pictures of some lovely clothes soon as well;)..

Hugs keiss- its good to have special people in our lives, and so sad when they are no longer with us xx

Today I will try and remain focused for NSD number 6, but I can't promise there won't be a chocolatey snack attack. It's monday, and I didn't get much sleep last night, which in my book = comfort food.

May the NSD force be with you all.

    xx
