Now there's a thought - we could have a communal NSD cow and share the milk around - I'm sure cw18 would appreciate that as well :D:D
I'd certainly appreciate a weekly loan of the cow until mid-September :D

(is it wrong of me to be looking forward to him moving out for Uni - pity my parents who get stuck with the 'milk monster' from then ;) )

Hey there, good morning from a blustery Edinburgh!
Well, I'm chuffed today - car passed MOT without needing any work done! I took it to a new garage and had also booked it in for a service. You could have knocked me over with a feather when the guy phoned and said " I've had a quick look - you're car doesnt need servicing just now, bring it back in 6 mths. I'll just check your oil levels etc" Which he did and DIDNT CHARGE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about that then? Fabulous!:j
Plus today we got a tax rebate which we have been waiting for for about 6 weeks, hooray!:j
Spoon - thanks for pepping me up this last week or so :A- I've been struggling a bit, but MUCH better now! :) The knitting is going really well - finished the scarf and another couple of hats, so out of 2 100g balls I got 7 hats for tots and a scarf, not bad for £2 spend! I'm now onto a sleeveless cardi for myself - have nearly finished the back. Its in chunky wool, so knits up quickly. Really enjoying my new hobby!:)

Today will be a spend day - am off to get some groceries for taking on hols next Friday also need to fuel up car.

Have a lovely day all :j
    Hi jinty
Brilliant news about the car and what a lovely man for not charging you - hang onto him, there aren't many like that around nowadays:j, and yay to the tax rebate as well:j

    It's a pleasure - really pleased you've perked up again now:A.
Glad the knitting is going well, your new cardi sounds great, hope you get it finished soon. Great idea to start on something with chunky wool to give you some encouragement - I remember knitting a top and cardigan in 4-ply (before I got some sense;)) - the 6 inches of rib at the bottom took me forever, never mind the rest of it.

Hope the spends today weren't too painful.

    And hello to everyone else:
thrifty fifty: great idea to buy the emergency chocolate supplies in bulk. Unfortunately it wouldn’t work for me as I would eat the whole lot in one go and then be rather ill:o, hope you have much more success.
Love the shopping list - you’ve got some real bargains there! And the nettle beer sounds interesting - any samples going? :)
slowlyfading: hope you enjoyed your meal out - sounds good!:)
Flickering Ember: minimal spend day is much better than a mega-spend day - so well done for that - and good for you for selling some books on GreenMet :)

Well I've managed another one today, mainly due to being in a zombie-like state from staying up too late listening to the election results (no idea why I bothered now:(), so I'm now on no 6:j:j

Off to do the usual update now, see you all tomorrow.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning!

Crikey, a lot has happened on here, tales of cows and cat splat face packs, ooh la la :D

Solvent-beer tastes like a weird herbal drink at the mo, so I'm not sure whether this might be another one filed under 'brewing mishaps'. We tried to make elderflower champagne last year, but there were so many trees with white flowers on, we got the wrong one and it turns out we used rowan flower instead. Not nice I can tell thee

After all the healthy eating I'm planning to do this weekend, I'll probably take one look at that pack of wagon wheels sitting in my drawer and smash my face through the packet to get at all of them, in a Jack Torrence, shining style 'Heeeere's Thrifty' :o

Well as you're all cracking on with your NSDs and I'm being left to eat dust, I'm clawing my way back with NSD number 4 today. I shall remain strong :)

    Bye for now

    xx

Morning its sunny in Scotland!!!! very chilly though.
Didn't make it yesterday as i had to pay for a wee Ebay purchase and a wee takeaway last night, but it was a special offer so not to bad, sometimes at the end of the week cooking just defeats me, I just can't think!!! and the aliens can't help, they actually fancy the cat poo..........
Must do the shopping to-day as the cupboard is bare, no bread and no veg so no option.
But will come in under budget I'm getting quite good at it and no one has actually noticed any changes!!!! have a wee craving for icecream, saw a new Italian stand in one of the big shopping centres here last week, it looked fantastic, you know all the different kinds all piled in wee pyramids like they do in Italy and I thought, yeeeesssss I'll have one of those and it was £2 PER SCOOP!!!!, I backed off and didn't find it difficult cos I think that is a ridiculous price for ONE SMALL SCOOP, so will buy Mr A's largest tub and have 10 scoops for around £1!!!! Have a good day all.

Normal service is resumed & the smile is back!!! :D

Have made list & will stick to it!! Am going to try buying my fruit & veg off the market today, think it may be cheaper than the supermarket. My treat will be something fresh to cook for lunch tomorrow, but nothing else, fingers crossed i can do it!!!

Good Morning from a grey miserable 'middle'.
Yesterday was a LSD for me as I had to buy a loaf of bread, and whilst in the supermarket also picked up 2 packs of bones for the dog. Today, is saturday so I'd be very suprised if I manage to spend nothing, even though I have no idea what I'm doing today.
I've just realised that even though I have only signed for 10days this is going to be quite a bit harder than I thought.
