I have my food budget set over the year but it looks like I have only 10.55 left to take me till the end of May if I'm to stay vaugely on target! (only fruit/veg needed and I have enough in for the next ~10 days) :wall: Ooooops! Store cupboard challenge anyone?
MrT is just not helping - I keep getting £3 off a £12 spend till spits for the metro store I pass going to/from work! :cool:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Does anyone have any advice on how to avoid spending? I think I'm addicted to shopping sometimes and love mooching around shops looking for bargains, birthday/christmas presents, etc....
Help Please!mothershipton wrote: »im going for 4 no spend days this month, but we seem to spend a little everyday, ie tues is my pilates class, weds is my sons climbing class etc etc so it is very difficult to have a nsd. Or do other people say that only unexpected spends count as spending. Views?
I don't count any money that comes out of my account through DDs/SOs, I only count hard cash I'm handing over and anything I pay for with DC/CC.
I calculate what I KNOW I have to pay for and take that money out of the bank at the beginning of the month. This month it should only be school dinners and karate lessons. Today I had to buy some jam as DS2 wanted to cook jam tarts. I took £100:eek: out of the ATM which hopefully should be enough. No NSD for me today
. Anything else is a spend to me as I'm not expecting to buy anything else this month.
If I do buy anything extra I try to do it on a day when I know I'm spending already ie. grocery day. That way you plan your spends and don't get too carried away. It definitely helps you make the choice between what you NEED and what you WANT!Good luck to everyone this month!

I really, really, really want something sweet to eat with my cuppa... but going to the shop would ruin my NSD! I wonder if I'm too lazy to make some fairy cakes...
Nargle, good call on the Brighton wardrobe! And it best not be Jordan; she's not invited! We have quite enough to be worrying about without the papparazzi following our every move!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

I have already made DS school packed lunch rolls for the week, they are in the freezer. Just about to make cakes - butterfly cakes and a cherry and coconut slice sort of thing, that should, with fruit, take care of his lunches. Leftover lasagne for me to take to work Wednesday, along with fruit and cereal.
No spending money on lunches for me!One life - your life - live it!0 -

NSD no 1 for me today - off the mark!
