Boots Massive clearance incl gameboys, ps2 etc..... (Merged)

Just been to Portsmouth, Fareham, and Southampton stores - no game consoles, and only the 512mb shuffles going through at the full £49.
Do your reakon these will come down in price as well??
All stores had the nano's ... again full price.

Maybe could be better to say you have seen it at another store at a reduced price and would like a refund and to re-purchase to get the price difference

i have just been to my local store to try and get a refund/buy back on an xbox i bought, and i was told that i couldn't get a refund because they didnt do electricals

And basically told me it was tough luck that I bought it 2 days before it was offered at a lower price and she couldn't do owt about it :huh:

Just take it back to another store and keep trying until you get lucky!

My daughter was behind somone who was made to feel embarrassed and dishonest for asking to return and then re-buy, and was told that no shop anywhere would countenance such a thing, so be prepared!

Boots really haven't got their act together on this one.

Hiya - just to update you on my previous post...

I called customer services before I went and spoke to Boots and they told me that acc to their system the DS was still sitting at £38 but he'd heard that some stores had reduced them along with other stuff to £10 so effectively I could go and ask for a refund then buy back the console. He asked for my name and put me on hold for a second so he could double check with a colleague & he'd agreed that it should be ok. He gave me his name and said that sometimes the stores may be a bit grumpy but any problems to call him back.

I went along to the store and was honest with them, but basically told that it was just bad luck that the price had gone down. I told them what I had been told by CS and they didnt believe me so I gave them the name of the person that I spoke to so someone went and called them.

Eventually she came back and said that I had in fact been told wrong information but in this instance they will honour it. She also told me that someone would get their fingers whacked! She then went on to inform me that sometimes, say shower gel is on 3for2 one month then changes to BOGOF, then someone comes back to query it, then they wouldn't give that person a refund, but as I pointed out, that would only be a loss of a couple of pound - not £28.74

So if you are planning on asking for a refund like I did, my advice is to call CS on 01159 182 000 before you go to the store...

I got the last x box that was left on the shelf. I had gone in for a playstation 2 but the xs box was all they had left. I am so glad that i bought that now.:j

Before i took the xbox in for a refund, i also rang customer services, and they informed me that it was managers discretion if they did that for me, luckily the manageress was a lovely lady :T

well done getting a bargain,makes a change carlisle store having any decent offers as they havent had many decent things on toiletry and cosmetic sale section,and acm never hardly works

can anyone point me to a lovely manager/ess as I'm struggling to find one at the mo......they cant all be miserable sods up here in the north-west ....surely :rolleyes:
