just got off the phone to 'Nick' at CS and was told it is up to the managers/ess of the stores as to whether they will do you a refund/buy it back and they can use there discression.
lets hope there are some nice managers/ess out there and if anyone knows of any in the north west??? a PM would be nice

does anyone on here know if Birmingham are doing the same offers! its quite a long way and would require a special trip costing £2.20. i'd realy like one of these ipods so what do u think and has anyone been to the birmingham store to day to guarentee that they have these offers.

I bought an xbox after originally going in for a ps2 like somebody else. As it wasn;t what I had originally intended I ummed and ahhed whether or not to keep it and then when I found out they were reduced to £10 I decided it had to go back. I thought that rather than try to outright buy it myself I would return it and then get my sister to immediately go in and buy it back.

What actually happened was that as soon as two other assistants saw what I was returning they actually started squabbling about who was going to buy it while all the time the three assistants tried not to let me know what the new price was (although of course I knew thanks to MSE:beer: ). When the assistant processing my refund handed my cards back I handed them straight back and said I wanted to buy it again. I think they were all quite impressed with my cheek TBH (I know I was) but having seen the way they were talking I knew that once that xbox went all the way over the counter it would be lost. I don't think I'll be going back in there for a while either.

Well I havent been lucky enough to get any of the xbox/ipod bargains, although after doing my regular (and a bit obsessive!) trip in Sheffield to Boots I found they had reduced the Pop Idol karaoke machines from £65 down to a tenner and the dvd karaoke packs to a fiver .. the lady in the store said they had only been put out on the shelves today and already there were only two left .. well actually one left cos i had one of em! :j

These items have been reduced to £10!!!! What is the point of asking ANYONE on these boards if they know where to find these - because any MSEr worth their salt would have had them ages ago if they knew where they were!
At that price you'd be MAD to leave them - fantastic price to give as presents to anyone you know.
All you can do is pick some stores and try it for yourself. Suggest you don't go to Aylesbury (nothing there), Banbury (checked last Saturday) or the one on the outskirts of Oxford (don't sell them) or Milton Keynes out of town next to Tesco (don't sell them).
