No, I'm afraid I have not appointed myself anything, nor do I have some special powers.

Through following/participating in several threads I had been lucky in getting a bargain, thanks to my helpful fellow MSE ers. And on those threads it was clear that that some fellow MSEers had put a great deal of time and effort into trying to locate something and had had no luck. Thanks to the help and assistance of fellow MSE ers I benefitted - so in repaying that in several particular cases I reserved the items, then PMed the other members letting them know where the items were, who I had reserved them with, under what name and so on helping them get lucky too.

MSE ers have been kind enough to help me. I try to help MSE ers back.

Many Thanks to the original poster . My two sons have been saving up for Gameboy Advances. Went into East Kilbride store on Tuesday, whenthe assistant checked the stock room there was only pink Gameboys left so took one for neices Birthday ( she will be delighted). I asked him about all the boxes in the glass display but was told they were all empty, but he would take them out so as not to mislead other customers. Went back in yesterday to check, but they were all there and were actually full. So got 2 Tribal packs for the boys and another pink one for friends kids birthday.

My kids are delighted as they had enought to pay for them themselves ( me very happy about that!!).

    Thanks again.

Also got some Rubbie and Millie, nail buffers from a fiver for a pound, plus Nokia mobile phone earphone thingy with built in mike for hands free use ( not bluetooth but that kind of style - with a wire attached) for hubby - that was also £1 - they had loads of bits and bobs in EK so worth a wee look.
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

absolutely nothing in Meadowhall, even the shop assistant didnt have a clue. just a few ipod nanos and ipod shuffles in a case, that was it.

really need a ds in the sheffield/barnsley/rotherham area if anyone has one for the prices quoted in the thread?

Just wanted to say many thanks to the op. I phoned customer services who gave me details of the stores which had the nintendo ds' in stock, and the store kindly transferred two to my home town store. I have just recieved a phone call from the manager saying they have recieved them.

Picking them up this afternoon, thats the kids main christmas presents sorted. Very happy bunny here.

I tried the same and its not happening! She said that they are selling so fast that they will not do that so she wouldnt even try(moo!). I said i know it was done for someone else and she said i doubt that that will happen as stock details are not correct.Hopefully for you she was just trying to deter me!

Well, i rung all the brighton and hove ones and nothing. Too slow again.
  • Last night Bluewater, Kent had one Gameboy Micro package with 2 games left, for £33. It was on the ground floor at the back of the shop in a glass cabinet next to the Photo Dept.

On Thursday they had 2 DS Pink bundles and 1 Silver, but when I asked the guy to check the prices he stated that they weren't reduced, I insisted that they were but after checking 'out the back' he stated that they were full price. When I returned 30mins later all 3 packs had gone - seems like the guy probably had them himself. I didn't actually want one but was just checking for other MSE's.

I did buy a Philips PSS110 - 256mb Personal Sound System for £19.99, reduced from £79.99. This is quite a cool little speaker system that can be connected to any MP3 player, used on its own to store 8hrs of music or as an alarm clock. Im just going to use it to scare the other half by recording 'scary noises', hiding it behind the sofa and setting the alarm to go off when Im at work.

Anyway Boots had 2 PSS110's left and 3 X-box packages for £74.99, just in case anyone is interested. Quite a few Shuffle and Mini docks left as well and Nano armbands - not much else iPod stuff though.
