Boots Massive clearance incl gameboys, ps2 etc..... (Merged)

Hi - after reading this thread I called the boots store in Dundee to see if they had any PS2 buzz packs but no. Nor did they have any Nintendo DS packs. I called Boots CS to see if they could help. I spoke to a really nice lady who searched for the PS2 packs but turned out they were sold out at the warehouse. When I asked about the Nintendo DS packs she located a couple in the PERTH store as of yesterday. She gave me the Perth’s store number and wished me luck and I thanked her for her help.
I called the Perth store up but they said that they only sold Nintendo DS at Christmas time, however the lady I spoke to did say that the last one she had to get, she got from the Bon Accord Centre in ABERDEEN. So I thanked her and got on the phone to them up there.
The first lady I spoke to said that there was some in stock and she scanned it at the till at £38.74. I asked if she'd be able to transfer it to the Forfar store. She said that she didn't think that they would, however, when I said that I'd spoken to CS and they had said that it was managers discretion, she said she'd ask her manager and give me a call back.
I called the Forfar store to confirm that they'd be ok to receive the goods and the manager said that there would be no problem what-so-ever. After about an hour, there was still no word from the Aberdeen store so I gave them another call and spoke to another girl. She said that it was quite busy at the moment but if I left my name and number someone would call me back.
A few hours later, my phone rang and it was the manager from Aberdeen store. I explained the situation to him and he said that he would transfer it to the Forfar store today along with my details so it should be with me in about a week to 10 days. I thanked him for his help too.
:T Boots have exceeded themselves in my opinion.:T
:T A big pat on the back to them.:TKatyag wrote:Any bargains in Aberdeen stores??
Check out the one in the Bon Accord Centre. Good luck...
Should have said - it was the Silver Nintendo DS bundle.
Hope this helps someone out.0 -

Just got back from the Nottingham Boots and they don't have any radios, ds's, micros left, but they still have some ipod stuff and they also have an xbox on display down to £74.99 bundled with a couple of games, I'm not interested, but thought someone on here might be.
If anyone wants to buy it from me we can arrange pickup in Nottingham or I might be able to drop off nearby. PM me if interested.0 -
I popped into a small Boots store yesterday and was pleased to find 4 Gameboy Micros on the shelf - they were marked at £66 but I took one to a SA who said they were def reduced to £33 something (although there was nothing in store to say they were reduced). Its our daughter's birthday Sunday so I said I would get it as it was cheaper than anywhere else just for the console, then when I got to the till the SA said that she needed to get the box and stuff from the back, and came back with the console and 2 games! Without having read this post I wouldn't have known these should have been reduced, and as it wasn't on the shelf anywhere you couldn't have known...
Many thanks to everyone!0 -

Personally I think people should only be allowed to join MSE forums after taking a means test to prove that they REALLY ARE poor and that they DESERVE the bargains more than the people who got to the shops before them.
I also think companies like Harrods, M&S, Debenhams etc. should prioritise the queues at their January sales based on the annual income of the person doing the shopping - lowest income at the front and highest income at the back.
This would be much fairer to everyone and much more in keeping with true socialist principles.
OR.... we could keep this board as "Grab it while you can" rather than "Don't grab it, leave it for someone who needs it more than you".
Then you shouldn't - you have to accept that this is a public forum and anyone can see it if they want to. If you don't want people to know what you do then you shouldn't tell them.
I agree with you....wouldnt life be boring if we all did the same things and had the same things.....life isnt like that and it isnt fair.....however i would say that people should have the right to basics....ie. food, water and shelter...Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
anewman wrote:How about change it to "What you couldn't grab because some Ebayer who doesn't have a job got there at 9am, bought 20 of em and moved on to another store - all while you were at work working hard and paying taxes!"
Or even "Grab it while you can! - Please provide your EBay user ID so you can be confirmed as a non-trader of goods and you will be PM'd the bargain details."
I think the assumption is that all ebayers dont have a normal day job.....i dont believe this is true...i sell on ebay...small volumes....but i have my own consultancy company and work up to 20 hours a day....
to me if you dont get a bargain, tough luck and stop bleating....the bleaters are the lazy ones who expect bargains to fall into their laps and whine if they dont get them.....i still get some bargains, but miss loads to others and fair play to them.....but i dont bleat...waste of time/energyStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

I'm reallt disappointed( silly I know!) as it's my son's 18th birthday soon and one of these DS's or PSps would have been great as i don't have a lot of money now I'm on maternity pay!
Oh well.
Thank you for the post anyway,

Cool, well done, could you let us know which branch as would love to grab one. Cheers0 -
There's an Intempo DAB radio in Lowestoft Boots, if anyone's interested. It's marked up at the wrong price (it's got a reduced sticker on it saying it's £44 or so down from £69 or so), but scans at 17.49. They had three, but I bought two, leaving just the one. The assistant said she'd have to reprice the last one, but they probably haven't done it yet.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Wouldn't do you any good I'm afraid - I was in the same branch a while later and they had all mysteriously disappeared!0
