It's not a question of whether Ebayers should be allowed to buy grabbits, but whether MSE ers should help them, with their time and effort and ultimately VALUABLE information which the Ebayers are not recipricating to those who gave it to them.

If this is the way it goes, we are all the poorer for it, because no bargains will exist .... either 100 MSEers benefit, or 1 Ebayer benefits and 99 MSEers lose out ... ... and then there is no need for this forum ... that's the ultimate conclusion.

Surely a lot of MSErs are ebayers too. The object of the website is moneysaving and that to me includes the ability to make the money that you have work for you. I am a 'ebayer' (makes it sound like I am a different nationality!) and I for one do reciprocate by giving moneysaving tips and highlighting bargains when I find them. It is a very selfish world out there and one of the things I thought I liked about this forum was that people are sharing knowledge and helping each other. This thread seems to have a lot of people bemoaning the fact that they have missed out on a bargain due to others greed which to me smakcs of sour grapes.

All that said I do think these comments should be placed on a seperate thread as they are detracting from the original subject of the thread. Lots of 50p aquafresh replacement brtush head twin packs in Aylesbury boots are to be had if anyone is interested.

So, is this thread still about the Boots bargains???........

Just got back from the Nottingham Boots and they don't have any radios, ds's, micros left, but they still have some ipod stuff and they also have an xbox on display down to £74.99 bundled with a couple of games, I'm not interested, but thought someone on here might be.

At risk of taking the thread back on topic..

xBox bundle in Boots at Great Bridge Retail Park (between West Bromwich and Dudley) also baby clearance items, eg bouncer chairs, micro sterilisers etc and they also had printers, dab radios for £12.50 and £17.50

The electrical shelves in a very bare looking Boots at Park Street, Walsall there was an xbox box - no mention of bundle and no SEL.

Both stores also had Ipod clearance items and various other non electrical clearance stock.

I was hoping for a DS of some description but no luck for me. Congrats to those of you who did get them though! I'm green with envy :D

That's not what we're saying at all. What we are saying is people who want items can't get them - because of people who want them just to make money (no reasonable person wants 10 XBoxes for example).

Why can't ebayers get a registered business and do the same as dixons et al do? Ok at first they won't be able to make as much as Dixons (and why should they expect to have a multimillion business empire from day one?! they only need say £20k a year to live on!) - but once they build a business reputation with their name they will command better prices and make more money in the future.

    Remember! Dixons started somewhere!

Also if (for example) a PS2 is £50 in boots - it is either a) still making boots money or b) making boots the money back on how much it cost them to stock the item. Boots will never make a loss. Hence those who setup a business can easily get things cheaper than they will do by going around grabbing bargains from these forums by buying in bulk like businesses do. They will then still be making the same amount of money without the added cost of travelling across the country to various boots stores.

Have you ever bothered trying? I'm sure all they want is a registered business and VAT number - and the money for the goods obviously and you're away! I've seen many a nice small PC shop - probably run by just one person able to sell items at the same prices or lower than the big boys - presumably they make a profit and get their stock of hard disks, processors and so on from somewhere?!

So you agree that ebayers are lazy money makers then?

And oops I think the thread should try sticking to boots Bargains from now on ;) Maybe these posts could be split and we could have an Ebayers vs MSE'rs argument thread ;)

++++++ok, set up a company, register for vat, setup payroll, income tax, setup a business bank account, appoint an account.....excluding cost this process can take up to 6 months, trust me I have company - due to the incompetence of bank staff, but more likely the gov depts - inland revenue, hm vat dept. In terms of costs for everything eclusing IT kit you setup eveything for under £1000, with a good accountant being the highest cost assuming you have a computer (!?) already.

++++Boots could be making a loss. I agree with your other comments, but that assumes distributors will trade with you.....trust me i tried with a distributor who supplies Game and they werent interested unless i spent over 100K with them and had 2 years + accounts - totally daft though i am sure if you took them a business plan and evidence of financial backing their view may change, but i lost intereste to be honest

+++lazy...you obviously have never sold anything, certainly not high volumes, on ebay then.....think - how long does it take to wrap say 50 parcels, print/add addresses, place ads, deal with emails, drive to the post office, etc and these people have day jobs
