burbs wrote:People who buy to sell on Ebay are tax evading scum bags is possibly the funniest sweeping statement that i have heard in a while. People have a right to buy a product cheap and sell it on for a profit if they feel that way inclined. It is not up to you, or anyone else for that matter.
Well burbs, what is the point of posting the information on the MSE forums then ? Why should I take the time and effort to post information if my fellow MSE ers will not benefit, but an ebay profiteer will. Why should I bother ? Why should I post the information ?0 -
I'm glad to see the Ebay vultures argument rearing its head again - always makes for a bit of lively debate
Personally I think people should only be allowed to join MSE forums after taking a means test to prove that they REALLY ARE poor and that they DESERVE the bargains more than the people who got to the shops before them.
I also think companies like Harrods, M&S, Debenhams etc. should prioritise the queues at their January sales based on the annual income of the person doing the shopping - lowest income at the front and highest income at the back.
This would be much fairer to everyone and much more in keeping with true socialist principles.
OR.... we could keep this board as "Grab it while you can" rather than "Don't grab it, leave it for someone who needs it more than you".Why should I bother ? Why should I post the information ?You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Brave post lugs stand by with the asbestos.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Or even "Grab it while you can! - Please provide your EBay user ID so you can be confirmed as a non-trader of goods and you will be PM'd the bargain details."0 -
I don't care what people do with their goods as regard to reselling (ebay), how about staying "on topic" about boots discounts & where there available.0

Its as simple as this, if you dont feel comfortable in posting deals that you find because there is a slight chance that somebody might go and snap up one of these deals and put them Ebay then dont.
Do you want people screened before they are allowed to become a member of this site? If they have an Ebay username they are not allowed? We have an Ebay section on the site, it really is nothing to get yourself worked up about.
People can do what they want with a deal that they have snapped up. If they decide to buy a bargain X-Box in their front room or if they decide to put it on Ebay is their choice. They paid the money and they bought the goods, what they do now is their business. I personally dont go out snapping up deals and Ebaying them as personally its too much hassle but for people who do, thats called free choice.0 -

We would love to but first we have to hunt down the Ebayers that are spying on the thread and chase them out of town0 -

That's not the point! The point is there are people who will go into a boots store and if it has 20 Xboxes - they will buy them all to sell on ebay - and move onto the next store and clear that one out. Someone who wants one will generally buy only one or two. Effect of Ebayer - ebayer makes some money - person who genuinely wanted the item doesn't get it.
It's the volume that's the problem. If ebayer's only bought *1* xbox then it wouldn't be a problem. It's the fact they clear out stores.0
