HOW TO SPEED UP A SLOW PC OR INFECTED PC. (a mini guide)

Been a PC user for nearly 20 years and still learnt some great tips from this. Thankyou0

Can I suggest the guide be updated if you are going to link to it, a quick skim through finds:
Recommends Avast 7 - outdated (separately if looking at lightweight AV I'd suggest Panda Cloud, but no one ever agrees on AVs lol).
Claims defragging won't make any difference, wrong.
You shouldn't be direct linking to the slim build of CCleaner - "Builds below are for system admins and advanced users.
They are not for distribution or mirroring". (On a side note it's bad form to direct link to executable files anyway)
You suggest uninstalling other AVs after installing Avast, should really uninstall any other AV first.
Your steps to disable ctfmon in most cases won't actually disable it - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599/en-GB
Also, as a lot of the guide refers to XP, perhaps a warning that it is no longer a safe OS0 -
You can suggest it, but as I don't agree with anything you've put, find people who just put "wrong" rather rude, and have better things to do, don't hold your breath.
The embedded link points to the latest version of avast, the fact it still says 7 in the text, rather than 9, is unimportant.
If someone wants to remove it from the sticky thread list because it's redundant or outdated, I have no problem with that, I never asked for it to be a sticky, and noone asked me, it just happened.
I linked to it to save typing, after seeing the umpteenth my machine is on it's last legs post.
Happy defragging!!

I'm completely confused as I usually am on this very badly designed website - was there an article somewhere?0
