I'm fat, my daughter has nits and I've ran out of money.

Hankc - are you taking the mick??? Stop it if you are. People come on here for support, not to have their confidence/self-esteem depleted even further.
Triker - I have heard that aloe vera oil works wonders for nits.0 -

This does take a while but you have to go through it in detail to make sure that any eggs/nits are out of her hair. Then when you're sure that they have all gone you can wash the hair through. This seems to be the best way!
One thing about the conditioner you use in Guineas advice, use a super silky almost slimy one on dry hair. That usually means a really expensive one (not very DFW I know) but perhaps treat yourself ? That was my hairdressers advice. I do have another one which stinks the house out ruins pillows but kills headlice for good, involving olive oil and tea tree or lavender essential oils..

You are an ignorant so and so. I am also fat. I have a condition called PCOS. There are people who have perfectly good medical explications as to why they can't shift weight and why they put it on so easily. I was 28 when I was diagnosed and that was like a light bulb moment as I suddenly I understood why I ate the same as everyone else, but had been fat all my life.
I also want to say Triker why don’t you combine your finances with your husband? If he has money left over at the end of the month surely he should be helping you with your debt. Maybe he could take over the whole of the household finances if you feel he is better with money.0 -
Triker - BIG hug to you. You have your sense of humour intact and that stands for a lot and, combined with a loving family and help from MSE network you will beat your debts and kill the nit bu&&as too.
Re Nits - just reiterating all other advice, buckets of thick conditioner on dry hair, a good nit comb and lots of patience, and yes I also recommend a spritz of hairspray on dry hair before school.
Fat - me too honey!
Hankc35 - still laughing at the coconut/windscreen item!
Good luck to you with everything you are trying to achieve.0 -
Hi hon. I've sent you a PM. Get your SOA up, and let us sort your money issues. Go to your GP about the nits and weight issues - they get paid A LOT of money, so don't feel bad about harassing them! On the up side, your daughter will leave school one day, so the reinfection has to stop eventually!!!! You sound like you have a bl**dy good attitude to life, so it's just a question of focusing your energy on the things you want to change. Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Triker :grouphug:
Re-nits
I've had the same problem with one of my DD's. I refuse to put strong chemicals on her head so used aromatherapy and wet combing with conditioner, but could never completely clear them. Luckily i was reading a thread on here about them and someone recommened delacet lotion its completely natural it stinks, but is easy to do, it took two applications, but she has been clear for a couple of months now :j . You can dilute it down and spray on everyday aswell to prevent them, but the smell has turned me off doing this. Its not cheap about £10, but i put it into a bottle with a nozzle so not to waste any and you should then get 2 applications on medium length hair. Another product recommend was a nitty gritty comb for wet combing, I use this now to regulary check hair, i have found it better than the normal ones you buy, in the thread some had got them on prescription, but i bought mine off ebay.

good luck and happy nit busting!!!0 -

Sorry to hear about all of this going on with you.
Regards to nits.....have you tried putting conditioner on your daughters hair and leaving it on, then taking a nit comb and going through all strands of her hair. This does take a while but you have to go through it in detail to make sure that any eggs/nits are out of her hair. Then when you're sure that they have all gone you can wash the hair through. Sorry can't be any help with anything else!:rotfl:
Also try putting some tea tree oil in that big bottle of cheap conditioner. The lice hate it.......it worked for me0 -
Re the money situation all I can say is you're on the right forum! These guys are an inspiration when it comes to sorting out finances, I've never posted an SOA as I've never got round to it but I have shaved all I can off my outgoings and am getting my £1,500 debt down slowly but surely!
Re the weight issue, I don't think the majority of people are truly happy with their body but it really is the personality that counts anyway, I know that sounds cliche but it's true and your family love you as you are so don't let it get you down!
Re the nits issue, one word, vinegar! My son had nits for ages, like you I tried everything then I used vinegar, he smelt like a chip for 24 hours then rinsed out, conditioned and combed his head was free from the critters, just keep combing 3 times a week or more and hopefully your daughter will be critter free too!
Good luck and keep smiling!Kate

Firstly I would just like to say that being overweight can be depressing enough with out heartless p**s take comments from obviously 'oh so perfect' people.
Anyway:
Gambling - no experience but a great believer in 'you can do anything you set your mind to' providing you use advise posted on MSE!!
Nits - totally the same problem - just can't get rid of them at all. My initial reaction when I discovered them was that there is no way that these horrible things are living on my poor babies heads. However they just won't bog off so I am eternally grateful to you for posting this on here as 1 - I now know that I am not alone in feeling this despair and 2 - I have picked up some good tips which I will now try out. They are embarassing, horrible things that just seem to be chemically immune.
Money- I think you are going to be fine after the fab people on this site have picked through your soa. I too like you are a genuinely positive person but occasionally I do get disheartened because it seems that despite trying your best you're not getting anywhere - especially when your socks are soggy - but like someone else posted we know deep down that we are lucky to have gr8 families and count our blessings.
Best of luck and big hugs,
