Morning everyone, its my first post on here so i hope you don't mind me joining on today.
Anyway, after hubs went to work at 6am i found that i couldn't sleep, hate light mornings,so i got out of my pit and wall papered the top of my stairs. This meant that after a week of decorating i could put things back after this wall was done.
Second job was to varnish my handrail which has been down for a week and sadly missed i must admit,so thats been done now too.
Dinner of homemade fish and chips, instead of the chippy and all cleaned through,So i'm now catching up on my programmes on On Demand with a cuppa, kinda pooped for a while so going to put kettle on and have a recharge.
Thanks for listening:)0 -
Morning all
Diva - hope you're feeling a bit better
I didn't read what the woman actually said to GB - so can't comment. He's only human after all. I don't need people to say the right thing, I don't need to like them, I just need them to be good at their job. Not sure about the general election, I normally vote differently than in the locals. Our lib dem councillor reckons the "only thing more abhorrent than the electorate are the elected"I like that
We've had a visitation from a canvasser - who started his sentance with "so, it's election time again" - to which my response was "Yes. I know. So where have you been for the rest of the year?". He just stuttered and ran away. I don't even know which party he was from. In my area, it's either Labour or Lib dem and I have decided based on who spent the least doing up their second home in London. Both want to build a gym in my area - I mean - come on, it's a rough estate so it will either go underused or just be there as a means of teaching the criminals to run faster. We already have an underused pool, an empty community centre, two deserted play areas and a huge amount of deserted play space. I never had any of that where I grew up, but I don't steal cars for a hobby. The most effective gift in my area would be a change of attitude, but that isn't going to happen any time soon. You can lead people to culture, but you cannot make them think unless they actively make that choice. (rant over, I promise :rotfl::rotfl:)
I made a snake out of a pair of socks yesterday. I don't know why, I was bored. He's sitting on my desk now. I have a parcel to post today to the US - which contains paper and a clay cat for a craft swap. I have just had to turn down a large art commission and a cake comission on account of not being superwoman. I have been really tired recently so need to learn to say stop rather than just having a life of endless to-do lists. Meh... I have even started eating breakfast, I'm hoping the nausea stops once I get used to eating before midday.
OS wise I put the washing on before I left the house and cleared the art stuff off the table. I will have to put it all back tonight though, so it's a short-lived sacrifice to avoid angering the god of tidinessI will need to hoover out the dust bunnies from under the sofa tonight as they a starting to form an organised social structure.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Back from Aldi, with two hanging basket kits 2 lots of plants for it and a clematis and honeysuckle. There was a notice on the plants no more than 10 trays per customer. Apparently the roll royce customer has a local guest house/B & B. They buy a lot of their supplies from Aldi.......wonder what their rates are???
OH had removed the old honeysuckle which had been allowed to grow wild, it is coming away from the root, so once it hets a bit bigger I will train a clematis through.
OH has a try out for the bowls this afternoon, so I may well do some potting on, some of the plug plants are growing fast. Too ealrly to put them out here, another couple of weeks at least....we could still get frost.
Chap came this morning to measure for the curtains for the porch.....expecting £350.......will see how accurate I am when the estimate comes.
Time to cook lunch, smoked haddock with bread and butter, turkey in cream sauce tonight.......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Mrsmuggy:wave: welcome to our merry little band!:)
have done the cleaning - my back is getting stiffer and stiffer - quite painful so have popped a couple of DHs pills(naughty I know but they are good) going to take it easy this afternoon.Think I've been overdoing it lately with the gardening and decorating.
Had my haircut - found out my hairdresser is expecting twins:eek: so will need to find a new one in a month or 2 - not looking forward to that as she's cut it really well for years.
just had mackerel on toast for lunch with a salad - yummy!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Have made the cookies and planted the veg:D.
Just having tomato, mozzerella and basil salad for lunch then doing a quick tidy up. Will have a little rest till I pick DS up as my ear is absolutely killing me...sharp stabbing pains. Just had some brufen and will be relieved when it works;)0 -

hello everyone,
had a lovely surprise today as my mum rang and told me to stay in after dropping DS1 at school as she has bought us a new tumble dryer and it was being delivered around 10am. I may sound very sad but its very shiny and new looking as our old one was passed thru my three siblings before we got it so it was very, very old, discoloured and made odd noises and on Monday while my mum was here overhearted again!:T
in terms of OS have made two pack lunches, although OH has wraps left over from last night and I have no idea if they will stay together.
Put washing out and 3 minutes later brought it in when it rained, it on maiden as not ready to 'christen' the dryer yet!:)
Dyson is fixed althou it still not picking up as well as could, so may ring helpline ova weekend.
DS2 still poorly and has requested choc cornflakes for after nap so will melt down more easter eggs.
Waiting for oH to text to c if got bedding plants from netto 10 for £1.49 which seems cheap.
Hope everyones who is ill feels better soon, hello to MrsMuggy
take care xxMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Afternoon everyone.
Well washed the car this morning with the kids [STRIKE]interference[/STRIKE] helpand it's now raining  Got 2 loads of washing to dry and it's going to have to go on the airer now boooooooo
Still I really shouldn't complain as my water butt is completely empty and the garden really needs the liquid!
I need to check the weather for the weekend. I fear it may be a total washout which is just typical because we are headed to H's relatives Friday night - wanted to take the kids to the beach but who's going to bet it p!sses it down all BH weekend
Anyway OS..........erm........erm does eating apple pies count? And sadly I didn't make them I bought them reduced - is that being thrifty enough? :rotfl:
Tea tonight? No ideaGot to sort out some packing tonight as we will head off tomorrow as soon as H gets in from work so it will need to be something quick and easy.
Might not get chance to post tomorrow and probably won't get online whilst we are away. Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Diva - Glad to see you are eating a little bit more each day.
NPM - Hugs to you and Noah. I can't believe they will happily let him go hungry all day just on the account that they can't use a bit of common coco grrrrrrrr. Sorry to hear about your migraines again, glad your OH hasn't had any so far this week xx
tiredmum - crossing everything for the possibility of a job x
mrsmuggy - hello and welcome
lowesy - Hugs to your friend - I hate to mention it but what crosses my mind is STI's and the like - if he's been sleeping with prostitutes unprotected and then with his wife.......I hope if anything he has been wearing protection. If not then he deserves to have his nuts served up on a platter for that alone.....
Essex-girl - can't wait to see the caravan pics. Getting all excited on your behalf. Are you testing it this weekend?!
Pennypincher - glad to see you posting. Hugs to you. :rotfl: @ the hooker comments
Floss - how's the wedding plans going??
Cranky - good luck with your plan to be a SAHM. It's what I'd really like to be but sadly H can't keep me in a manner I am not accustomed toI am sure the Elf will love you being at home. I know I did when my mum was
OK I am sure I have probably missed some of you and I apologise for that
Hugs to those that need them. Have a lovely afternoon and BH weekend.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Hi everyone,
Happy birthday Moggins. Nice to have you bacl Penpin, I'm sorry you are feeling so down. Where's Aussie, she hasn't posted for ages.
Re: packed lunches, did anyone see that a nursery told a mum she couldn't send her two year od with cheese sandwiches because cheese isn't on their healthy eating list. That makes me so cross, under fives need full fat dairy products like cheese in their diet more than they need lettuce and tomatoes.
Sorry, rant over.
Osiness still consists mainly of decluttering, we need to ahve it all finished by next Wednesday. I did make and S& K pie last nigh, very yum but used the last of the ready prepared pie filling in the freezer so no more until the autumn I think.
Have a good day everyone.0
