    Good morning,

I haven't done much on the os front as I've damaged the ligaments in my knee, and have not been able to walk much. I took myself to the doctor yesterday, and have suoer duper anti inflammatory painkiller thingies, so I'm hopeful of catching up with the washing and ironing today.

I have taken the huge step of asking for a 5 year career break at work so that I can be a SAHM to the house elf from September until he starts high school. I have a small pension, widowed parents allowance and child benefit to do this on, so the budget will have to be fairly strict.

Diva I get the flashy lights migraine if I skip a meal, so it could well be that. Hope you feel better soon.

Thinking of Ladygrim. It's not so long since I was in her position, and it's not a good place to be.

    Take care all of you

I'm sure the house elf will appreciate the sacrifices as he grows up and understands what you chose to do.

Poor LameWolf. Sounds like you need a duvet day.
BitsyBeans / Lowesy – I had to “face the car in the opposite direction using forward and reverse gears”. That was nearly seven years ago.
Anniestar – re the worming tablets. Have you considered getting a Labrador? When mine needs worming I just “accidentally” drop the tablet on the floor – he’s there to clean up in a flash. In fact, sometimes he catches it mid air.
    Diva – (((hug)))
Cranky – best of luck with the career break. I’d love to be a SAHM, but I don’t have any children! Maybe one day…

I was chatting to my friend last night and she was telling me about somebody on her labradoodle forum who has two critically ill dogs because they were playing and one got his teeth caught in the other’s collar. Friend and I were a bit worried tbh because our two always bite at each others collars when they play together. Cue an online trawl and subsequent order of 2 safety release collars – one for each Puppy-Dog. They were £10.99 each but worth the money I think.

My enforced low-carb diet has finally ended – sent OH to buy potatoes last night. So baked potatoes for tea. Possibly with a lentil salady thing that I like. Breakfast was bran flakes with sliced banana. Lunch is LO macaroni & cheese from last night’s dinner. Off to measure windows and things in the new house tonight – we will need curtains for the living room and main bedroom pretty promptly. Never tried making curtains before but might do some costings and see what I can come up with. That way we can have them just the way we like them.

    Hugs to all,
    Gxx

    Hi all:D
    Not been on much recently:o.
DS having problems with things. The whole toilet worry thing is getting out of hand. Not only will he not use black toilet seats now but he won`t use toilets if someone has just flushed due to the noise but if someone doesnt flush it he is stressed that if he has a wee and puts more paper in it will block:o. The result is he has been holding on too long and then having wee accidents at school and has been wetting the bed. He now seems to be avoiding having a drink to try to stop going to the toilet at all which will obviously cause other probs with infections and dehydration etc:eek:.
Also they have started eating their packed lunches outside at school which he can`t cope with.....terrified of wasps and bees and breeze blowing his stuff away, and dust getting on his food etc. This happens every year with the result that he goes all day without food which isnt good....have spoken to school again today and hopefully he will be having lunch in the classroom.....this means he is isolated but there is no other option:o
I have been reading The Faraway Tree to him each night and he is enjoying it:T
Today am planting more lettuce to avoid buying any all summer and some more potatoes.
I have cookies to make for DS and some ironing to get done.
I really want to make a cherry and almond cake but I am the only one who likes it and I will eat the lot:o.
Am going to have to force myself to keep on the move today as I am tired due to being up most of the night with earache which is killing me and of course DS has been up at silly o clock as per usual:cool:
MSD good to hear you are getting better slowly
For those who were asking OH had his head Xray last week and has not heard anything so am assuming it was fine....he is waiting for a scan and to see a Dr at headache clinic....he has not had any headaches this week so thats good news......I however had one everyday last week lol......I think it is the warmer weather...some of you may remember my 8 weeks off work with migraines this time last year, at least I now know what they are and have tablets to deal with them. I had one at work on Monday and the tablet got rid of the pain but it took ages to get my sight back as one eye was useless could just see blackness out of it...was tricky trying to cannulate patients I can tell you!
Cranky that sounds a good decision
  • Hi Guys!

Thank you for all the lovely comments and messages. They are greatly appreciated:A

I'm still in bed as I can't move much today and in a lot of pain.

The WM has been on and put in the TD. DW has been emptied by DD. My extra help is here tomorrow, so hopefully she will give the house a clean through for me.

Downstairs is quite messy as OH is trying to get a unit together. He's finding it difficult as he can't bend down and needs to keep leg straight. He wont ask for help either! MEN!!

DD is doing very well and has now got a BF:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:....luckily, he is not local. Still can't fathom that she is 16 this year:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:....OMG it's official.....I'm ancient!

Twink-I understand DD showed you a picture of me in my new wig:D....at least I dont look like a hooker, which is what I was scared of:o....still not brave enough to wear it though!

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone and if Ive missed anything big...sorry.

    PP

    Morning All ,

Quick post from me as I have a lot on. Apparently that what I get paid for... Who knew? :D

Found out from my dear friend last night that her husband has been playing away with ladies of the night. Apparently he's been going on his lunch breaks at work and I work with him :eek::eek::eek: Fortunately, my department is split across two buildings so I haven't seen him yet, just as well as I don't think I'd be able to keep my mouth shut if I did. I'm sooooo shocked I can't imagine how she feels. I just wish I could help her more. She doesn't want to talk she's so angry (i'm kind of guessing the grief hasn't hit her yet) guess I just need to be around for when it does.

OS wise today I am making one of my Mum's famous dishes - pork chops, with roasted veg, apple and sage. Yum YUM!! Didn't think DH would like it as he can be a bit funny about having "sweet stuff" in a main meal, but he practically inhaled it when my Mum served it up the other week!

Hope everyone is ok, hope to catch up a bit more as the day goes on.

    Hugs to all xx

Having a busy time here. We exchanged on our new house on Monday, so I'm now getting people in to give us quotes on all the work that needs doing to it. I have to say I'm getting a little stressed about it all, I'm even dreaming about doing the work. The house has a lot of potential but we've got a lot of work to do. We don't complete until mid June, but I need to get everything lined up before DS2 goes into hospital next month.

I was really pleased last night as I got payment for the stuff that i sold at our local NCT sale. I made more than I thought I had so I may treat myself to a book:)

Beavers is tonight and DH is out for dinner so a quick pasta meal tonight. I'm trying to run down my stocks of food and my freezer contents. Last night we had mince and dumplings, and DS1 and I made some meringues so we'll have some of those for pudding tonight.

I'm getting really fed up with the amount of election stuff we are getting at the moment, especially as the main 2 parties are running a really negative campaign here. We even got a visit from the labour party trying to drum up support, they've never done that before.

I'm off to sort out socks and undies!

just popped back to say how lovely it is to see you posting PP:j:j
I had to laugh at the thought of you looking like a hooker:D:rotfl: sorry your health hasn't improved at all. Your DD is all grown up now - doesn't seem 5 minutes since she was about to start high school does it!

NPM - glad to see you posting too - sorry about the headaches x
