Just back from a few days away, and am feeling quite fired up to do well this month - nice to have a new thread - thank you!
Have decided to go with the same as last month,
£120
which was based on £4 a day. One day more this month, but was away for the first 2 days, and, last month I went a bit over as I forgot to include milk and organic veg, which are both delivered and on direct debits.
So, a bit more of a challenge in one way, but have had deliveries from Food Bargains and App. Foods, so am quite well stocked up. We'll see!
Good luck everyone else!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
£400 for me please.
I am going to updat my sig each week - to help me keep track.0 -
Just made six American-style blueberry pancakes out of storecupboard ingredients and a pack of whoopsied blueberries bought in first monthly shop yesterday - should be enough for breakfast next weekend if I freeze them. Also made a loaf of wholemeal bread in my brand new Panasonic SD255 (which I LOVE) - it's so nice to see what goes into your bread and know it's not full of cr*p. Soaked some dried chick peas and cannellini beans overnight as well (from storecupboard) so those are now portioned up and frozen to add to meals.
It's definitely easier to stay on budget if you plan!My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.0 -

Hello. I’m back to report my first spends of May, pretty rubbish so far!
Saturday was £5.93 in Mr S (had to take advantage of the 3 for 1 Pringles offer although they have been hidden away…) and £54.82 in Mr T. Sunday should have been a NSD but ended up spending £1.59 on extra mozzarella as we had an unexpected visitor and the cheese I had wouldn’t stretch. Still, that’s much better than DH usual takeaway under those circumstances so I should be pleased. Today again should have been a NSD but our tent apparently had to be mended today or the world would come to an end (?) and a few other things jumped into our hands in the tent shop but none of it from GC money.
So total so far £62.34 and 0 NSD.

Hi all
scotsaver - we dug up 1/3 of our lawn this year - I might graduate to an allotment when I'm a bit better at gardening and feel I can do it justice!
Have spent about £20 in the last 2 days which is a bit high - but I have meal-planned for about 5 days which for me is progress!!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Please can you put me down for £175, went a little bit over at the end of last month with hubbys being off work.
Spent £55.40 on tesco delivery yesterday but it looks like they over charged me so have emailed them.
I have quite a bit of meat in now so fingers crossed it will just be extra bits from the shop for the next couple of weeks and no big spends but with hubby off work he might end up eating moreJan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000
