Got back from hols last night, tired out from a horrible train journey (replacement bus between Birmingham and Gloucester just one of the snags!)
Tired or not, I put a load of washing in the machine, and, set up the bread machine so we had fresh bread this morning. In the "old days", I would have popped up to the C*-*p for bread etc on the way home (it's open to 10pm every day), but knew we could manage without - also made up some powdered milk and left it in the fridge overnight IN A MILK BOTTLE! Even I didn't notice this morning that it wasn't proper milk until I remembered!
Have been to S**nsbury this afternoon to get a few basics - butter, eggs, cheese, fruit etc (not veg as have organic delivery tomorrow, or milk - also comes on Tues) and spent £14 exactly.
Also bought wine - great bargain - 25% off if buying 6 bottles! - but I don't include alcohol in my GC.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

Hi. I've been away for a while...busy with work. I easily made my April GC challenge because I forgot I was on holiday for a week...so feel I was cheating a bit with my challenge. This month I'm going for £90 for the month.
Good luck everyone :T0 -

NSD today for me. We had the left over beef from yesterday in tortillas & was quite pleased with myself as didn't go to the co op to get hoison sauce as I thought I would have to as had intended to have it with rice. Also had a half tub of sour cream in the fridge which would previously have been thrown out plus a bottle of salsa & we just did without the packet of seasoning that you get if you buy the tortillas as part of a package.
Just wondering though whether to go to Sainsburys tomorrow to stock up on wine - is tomorrow the last day does anyone know?Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
Sorry, me again! Just wanted to say that whilst I was rummaging in my freezer to see if I had any icecream to give to DS who was saying he really wanted some, I found a big tub of homemade chicken soup and a homemade lemon drizzle cake! Sometimes I find it a bit of a pain or difficult to find the time to do home baking / cooking but it sure is nice when you find things that you have previously made! That's lunch sorted for a good few days!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0

Hi everyone,
sent dh to Mr T for teabags and a few other bits. Told him under no circumstances was he to get the pyramid teabags unless they were on offer, and in any case not to spend more than £3 anyway even if they are on offer. So what does he do-gets them at £3.50:eek: To add insult to injury i also needed cheap scouring sponge things that are about 25p for 6, they had none of them so he got another make for 70p:eek:
Wish i had gone myself, in fact i usually do:( Im very annoyed about the teabags though as i only get them if they are on offer and £3 or less, usually from Mr M, and i would have gone to the pound shop otherwise, could have got 400 for just 50p more!
Never mind. So thats another £12 to add to my sig.
I am not going near the shops now untill we run out of milk, i have bread in the freezer so thats fine, and next time i will go myself lol
