Hi Gloom
I did send a copy of my 1st plusnet invoice to TT many times attached to an email also inline but they would not accept it, demanding it as pdf, instructing me to save as pdf in MS paint.
I tried this but paint does not give me option of saving in pdf. My printer's on its last legs - I managed to get a feint copy out which I already sent.
Yes from Ofcom it's obvious that I only need a MAC to change but I think it will be harder for me as Ive already got the debt collectors involved.
many thanks for alternative fone no.0 -

I looked at ispa.org.uk but tiscali & TT are not on their members list so they wouldnt take a complaint on them
That's the site which i dealt with. It was tiscali and TT. They'll have contacts as i was emailed, then phoned and ask to take a digital picture of the TT policy date, account numbers etc and received a cheque not too long after.0 -

Copy and paste your email into MS Word, then use 'save as' to convert it to a PDF.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks for all the replies guys. It seems that there are lots in the same boat. I have tried all options inc. sending copy of plusnet activation email, without success, so I will now government ISP monitoring service.org a go. Thanks again:)0

Right 1st off stop all telephone contact and go postal on them !!!
It is up to them (not you) to prove that you owe them this money.
Send them a Letter Before Action by recorded signed for post.
Basically inform them that you dispute this debt & that they have 14 days from receipt (not posting day) to either refund you all monies taken in error in full or provide evidence that you actually owe them this money.
Also that unless either the money or evidence is provided you will be filling with the small claims court for recovery.
If they have already passed it to a debt collection agency putting the debt into dispute should automatically stop any recovery action until the dispute is sorted out.
You should do a bit off googling on LBA and dealing with Debt Collection Agencies and putting a debt into dispute.
You could also try a charge back under the DD guarantee from your Bank.0 -

You can convert files to PDF online. See here
You are a bit further down the line than I got. As others have said, you will probably be best doing everything by post from now on (recorded delivery).
You need to follow TalkTalk's complaints procedure. See Section 9 of their Code of Practice Linky
As your next step, I would write to TalkTalk and ask for a 'letter of deadlock'.

TalkTalk are a member of OTELO so, when you get your deadlock letter, you should contact them. Linky Follow the instructions on how to complain.
I hope that helps.0 -
Thanks Kesh, but TT are not on ispa.org's list but no harm in trying. TT dont owe me as I paid until the end of December & I couldnt get on TT b/band from 30/12.
Macman I tried to do that in Word but had no option to save as pdf, I sent the attachment in word and TT said they couldnt access it.
Speedfreek thanks- I have never phoned TT, only emailed & written. I have written to debt collectors informing them the debt is in dispute. I cannot take TT to small claims as they do not owe me any money, we are even at my changeover to plusnet.
Gloom - Im going straight to Otelo as I dont believe I need a deadlock letter coz I disputed this well over 8 wks ago.
thanks all,
will let u know how it goes0 -
Hi Guys,
A MAC is used to complete a transfer between providerson BTs network but is not notice that you are leaving your provider. The terms and conditions of a TalkTalk service state 30 days notice must be given. That said - when a MAC is used TalkTalk should be informed that the service is moving by BT wholesale and the billing account should be closed down.
Anyone that is still being charged for a service that is no longer active can post at www.talktalkmembers.com/forums and we'll be able to ensure that the problem is dealt with for you and any refunds due are received.
Hotpot1000, I'm sorry to hear of the trouble you've had trying to get this issue resolved. If you are able to register on the forums we'll be able to place the account with the collections agency on hold until the issue is resolved for you and any relevant credits are raised.
Cheers

I thought I had sorted my problem out, but it seems I was wrong. I spoke to TalkTalk billing services on the phone last week and was assured that, not only was the matter closed, but a refund was on the way. I was even given a reference code. Alas, I should have known better, today I received two emails stating that I still owed them £8.89.
TalkTalk are still insisting that I owe them money for the whole of March despite the fact that I switched to O2 at the beginning of the previous month. I used a MAC code and I cancelled because, as a former Tiscali customer, TalkTalk's new terms and conditions were unacceptable. I believe that in those circumstances the 30 day notice period, that TalkTalk Company Representative refers to above, is waived. In fact, I'm pretty sure that it said as much in the letter TalkTalk sent me when they changed Tiscali's prices, terms and conditions."This price increase does not breach our Terms and Conditions, but this price adjustment does mean that if you were still within your contract period you are able to leave without penalty; however we have other packages which may interest you, please do speak to the relevant department to discuss this further."
Bizarrely, they seem to have given me credit pro rata for the period from when I switched until the end of February but then have deducted that from the £16.14 they claim I owe for March.
Anyway the matter is now going to OTELO.0 -
Im being advised by Otelo too.
Ive sent in the plusnet invoice that TT wanted to settle the account because PLusnet hadnt told them I had moved but now they say it's 30 days notice, why couldnt they tell me that when I asked for the MAC? Why do they keep moving the goalposts?
I received a welcome email as a new customer on 22/01/10 from tiscali - who knows why.
I posted another complaint to management team on TT and have seen that my first 2 complaints regarding the matter were marked up as solved, which definitely isnt right.
I had no reply to my first letter & copy plusnet invoice so I am escalating as per Otelo's advice.0
