I read Good Food, I really should get it on subscription (but sometimes the OH buys it for me which he wouldn't do if I already got it
hehe). I enjoy it, but I don't think I have actually used a recipe from it yet! It all seems a bit high end for my budget, and seeing as how I'm usually cooking for 1 and the recipes are usually for 2 or 4 it doesn't seem worth it.

If you don't actually want a subscription yourself, could you gift it someone? That might be an efficient use of your vouchers."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Good food is fantastic - I am on my second or third subscription (via cc vouchers
)
Recently they have been doing more and more articles and recipes using left over food and cheaper ingredients. I have tried quite a few new recipes recently, and have been pretty successful. I like their recipes because they always turn out as they should.
I was thinking about subscribing to Delicious. Is that mostly recipe based, or articles?
I subscribe to Olive but when my subscription runs out I won't renew it - there is a lot in it that I don't read - and I do find that a lot of their recipes are not really everyday family meals.

Delicious is mainly recipes and I think it's great, it's the only magazine that I saveThe recipes are good, and they're usually costed. It does have a bit of a thing for using ingredients from a certain 'higher-end' supermarket, but it's not like it's the only place you can get the stuff you need. They also do great 'leaflets' along with the magazine, with themes like family meals, a 'delicious' diet, winter warmers etc. Also, they do seem to respond to reader's requests as they've started featuring a lot more basic and cheaper recipes, along with more veggie stuff. What I REALLY like about the magazine is they have a 'use-up' page every month, which suggests what else you can do with the fancy ingredients you may have bought. Great if you're like me and you'll buy things to try them in a recipe but then have no clue what to do with the rest
I sound like an advert lol but I do enjoy the mag, and I regularly cook from it (the recipes generally always work too, which is nice). I'd recommend you go and have a flick through a copy before you subscribe, I think you'll like it.0 -
I'd got for Good Food from a practical point of view, Olive is good but thats a foodie one, as in lets think about what to have for lunch whilst having breakfast0

I love Good Food, I find it usually has a range of recipes from quick/cheap/easy to posh stuff that I can drool over (or adapt to something more affordable). Olive is a bit too 'aspirational' for my taste, although the recipes look lovely, so that's why I'd go with Good Food. Easycook, I couldn't get on with at all, I found the recipes either too basic or reliant on processed foods.0

I always buy Good Food, every recipe I have tried has always been excellent and I use their website alot when looking for inspiration. My recipe book is full of recipes from various magazines over the years and I then pass them on so nothing is wasted
Didn't really like Olive, far too faffy0 -

Don't forget though, that if you have clubcard tickets it works out less than £1 per issue. Still worth pointing out though!0 -
I used to subscribe to Good Food but found that their recipes were always a variation on a theme and kept coming back in subsequent editions, albeit rebranded. Their vegetarian food is particularly unimaginative unless you like to eat cheese and tomato tarts with salad every week, although I didn't feel inclined to subscribe to the Vegetarian version either.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
